Kobe may well be a jerk.  Indeed, he is very similar to MJ in that way.  But don't think that KG isn't similar.  He likely is.  And if you don't think this is part of the reason for them winning, then you aren't paying attention.

I am pretty sure KG says a lot of junk in practice too.

And to everyone, the ball boy, the janitor, everyone!

i am pretty sure KG never said anything that ridiculous, that selfish or that arrogant to his own teammate. bryant has long been known to be a bad teammate - he openly yells insults in the middle of games when others don't play up to his "standards" - i've never seen KG act that way. on the contrary, KG really seems to cherish those relationships. the only thing bryant cherishes is his own legacy and his teammates are just a means to an end for him.

don't ever compare KG and Bryant - they are worlds apart as human beings.

Just ask Charlie V

Um Charlie V is not on his team is he? They have never been teammates

if sasha was my teammate i would do the same...some people are just annoying even if they are on your own team.

ditto

and you really cant compare lebron and kobe. kobe is a proven champion with a winners mentality that pulls through in the clutch... gotta respect that. lebron is just a primadonna who cant win a ring.

I don't care how many rings one has over the other. Their egos are much bigger then their talents imo.

Ughhh...hate to do it, but I slightly agree with the original poster. His game is awesome, but I've seen so many post-game interviews (playoffs and regular season) where he acts like he doesn't want to be there, and he doesn't want to be interviewed. Easy to tell by his short responses and demeanor...At the same time, he gets asked idiotic questions by reporters all the time.

I see a lot of self-centeredness and cockiness from him, but he also has a great personality which he shows at other times. He is usually pretty friendly with fans. Whether or not it's a ruse, I don't know, but I don't think so.  He is pretty cool with his teammates, but expects a lot, and if he doesn't see it, he could either blow up in your face, or pull you aside nicely to explain. It all depends on him, and how he's feeling. He's also extremely intelligent for someone who didn't go to college. Speaks and articulates very well. Talks to Gasol in Spanish in-game to set up plays.

But yeah, even I am sometimes bothered by his attitude.

I saw the same thing the OP is talking about. I also thought that was very offensive and wasn't sure why that clip made it to TV.

Kevin Garnett has fought with lots of his teammates.

In 2000 he punched Wally Szerbiak in the face.

In 2004 he was playing pickup ball with U of Minn rookie Rick Rickert, and Rickert was scoring on him. Other guys started teasing garnett, so when Rickert scored again on KG, he punched Rickert in the face, opening a cut that required 7 stitches.

KG's no angel with his teammates. They're not the huxables or anything.

I realize that but bringing up Charlie V did not make that argument. I don't recall ever making the argument KG has never gotten into it with teammates.

It was a reply to Tenn Smoothie, not the Charlie V thing. Just got lazy with the quote button. Apologies.

I actually saw the Association scene with Sasha. What's the big deal? It's obvious he was just F'ing with him.
