Hey Guys,

I am a longtime Laker fan with the enviable job of helping a Celtics player out with his social media. I met with him in Boston recently, and as you can see he's really starting to ramp up his social media outreach to give you guys way more access than he's ever given previously.

I have some questions for you that will help me help this player out in the future.

-What are you seeing now from NBA players in social media (facebook, twitter) that you enjoy?
-What could NBA players do in social media to make your experience as a fan that much better?

Feedback appreciated. These suggestions will feed directly into better and more access to your favorite Celtics. Thanks!

One of the coolest things I've ever seen was Marbury's straight fan to star videochat.

Nate Robinson doesn't have to eat vaseline, but a live video podcast where he takes live fan questions would be cool.

For me I just really enjoy seeing the team interact in their truest form.  The videos show me what I imagine is going on behind the scenes.  Personalized social media allows you to get past all the politically correct and standard formats that we are usually forced to take in if we want any glimpse into what these guys are like.  Most of the time these types of media are made for the masses to consume and players have to behave in a manner that could be considered respectful to anyone who might be watching.  But seeing pranks these guys are pulling on each other and the fun they have with each other, unedited and in it's true form is refreshing.  You get a sense of what these guys are really like without all the glamour and glitz.

I've been loving it for that reason...although I hope it doesn't end up getting the Celtics in trouble at some point.  I think there's a potential for a video to be released with something that people might find offensive or distasteful, so just be careful.

How is any current self-respecting Celtic employing a Laker Fan for help with anything?

Lakers-Celtics mutual hate is for the fans and the old guard, not really ingrained with the new generation of players.

Appreciate the feedback. I will definitely keep the videocasts in mind, although we'll probably start with baby-steps, maybe just a pre-recorded video Q&A of some sort, polling questions via Twitter.

Keep the ideas and comments coming; I will monitor this intermittently and write these down to discuss with the player himself and his management team.

I really enjoyed seeing The Celtics while they were eating lunch (i’m assuming) it’s fun to see who sits with who, who sits off to the side... etc.

I also really like seeing the practical jokes and types of things that can build team chemistry.
