From Real GM:

Quote
David Aldridge of NBA.com writes that free-agent center Shaquille O'Neal may be a good fit for the Nuggets.

Aldridge added that O'Neal will have to lower his asking price in order to land anywhere.

"Assuming he gets realistic about the money, there still are a handful of teams that would make sense for the Big Fella," Aldridge wrote on Monday.

"Denver has no size to speak of, and while the Nuggets' fast-break style certainly is antithetical to what O'Neal is good at at this point in his career, big is big."

There are two kinds of people: those who say to God, 'Thy will be done,' and those to whom God says, 'All right, then, have it your way.'

You don't have a soul. You are a Soul. You have a body.

How much can the Nuggets offer for Shaq? On the nuggets board I read some posters say that Nuggs might trade JR Smith (mostly because of his attitude issues).

Anyways at this point I think we might be better off bringing Sheed back. I know he was unbearable to watch in the regular season last season, but if we can get him into shape then it'll be good for us. Plus he still is younger than Shaq.  :-\

The Nuggets seem like they'd be on the same boat as us:

-Shaq would still need to be willing to take less money to be an option for the Nuggets

-System may not be the most ideal.

I mean, would the Nuggets start Shaq over Nene? I doubt it.....

It soundes like Aldridge is just spitballing, not neccessarily that's he's heard anything.  It would make sense, though.  Denver has the talent to be on the verge of contending for a title, but simply don't have the size to handle the Lakers.  And as long as Shaq rebounds and outlets the ball, I don't see how he doesn't fit into Denver's system.

That would be a very bad fit.

Yeah that wouldn't go well. The playing styles would clash. And then the ego / personality involved also would wreck things. That team is too unstable as is.

Why would Aldridge think Shaq would fit well in the Nuggets system? The Nuggets and their run and gun style are one of the most exciting teams in the league alongside the Suns. Shaq in the middle of their lineup would completely disrupt their style.

With us I dont see signing Shaq as a big problem, and I think he would fit. The big three dont like to run much and he'd fit in nicely with that. It is upsetting that Rondo can't use his speed in our offense yet.
