"I've never won a championship at any level but I'm so focused. Maybe now I can win one at the highest level. That would be amazing," he said with excitement.

"I think it was the tradition. Cleveland had a beautiful situation. I mean, they're rebuilding and trying to bounce back after that big loss they had but it was just that tradition [in Boston]. Larry Bird, Robert Parrish, and all of those guys put this jersey on and it's like no other experience. I just wanted to be a part of that and I know it's going to unbelievable."

"I'm just going to go in and try to learn all of the defensive schemes because I know that's going to be big, depending on how much they utilize me. They haven't told me a specific role but I'm willing to do anything they ask of me. If they need a cheerleader, that's fine. If they need a water guy, I'll be getting everybody water. If they need me knocking down open shots, I'll do that too."

Wafer knows all about having something to prove. After his failed stint in Greece, he feels that fans have gotten the wrong impression about him and he sees this season as an opportunity to save his career and really surprise people.

"I was talking to Coach Rivers during our meeting and he was like, 'Von, we only have the minimum to offer.' I told him, 'Coach, it doesn't matter. I'll sign for whatever, anything,'" Wafer recalls with a laugh.

“I wasn’t always sure I’d be back,” says Wafer. “it’s unbelievable. I’m just so happy to be back. I’m just so happy.”

“I just hope to help the team,” says the 25-year-old over the phone. “I’m all about the team first. I want to do anything I can to help make this a better team. Coach Rivers said, ‘If you’re not going to be a team player I don’t want you here.’ So I’m just gonna do my best to help make us a stronger group.”

The former 39th overall pick becomes the second Boston Celtics to hail from Louisiana, joining Glen “Big Baby” Davis—though he hasn’t yet had the chance to speak with any of his new teammates.

“I haven’t talked to them,” says the former Florida State star, “but I have a relationship with Paul Pierce and Big Baby.”

Currently in Los Angeles, VW plans on flying out to Boston early next week.

“I’m gonna leave Sunday,” Wafer says. “Then I’m gonna stay up in Boston, try to work with the coaches to get familiar with the defensive schemes, learn the plays and get more familiar with everybody up there.”

So far he is sounding really humble for getting the opportunity for playing with the C'and having the chance to possibly redeem himself.

Cool. Thanks for the quotes. TP.

He keeps sounding more and more like a 6-5 Nate Robinson.

Scoring abilty, range, athleticism, young, feeling a passion for redemption.

If he is healthy, he could be a major asset on the bench.

Andy Bernard doesnt lose constests. He wins them, or he quits them because they're unfair.

Hello Von Wafer!   Goodbye Scalabrine!

If he's healthy, the Celtic fans are going to love him.
He runs, he shoots he slashes.  And he's not afraid of anyone!

Anyone else replay the dumb and dumber video 25 times in a row?

Ainge has built his team like Belicheck, attitude problems are fine, felony charges are not.

I loved him on the Rockets, going to love him even more in green.

The kid is fearless. His energy is also similar to KG he puffs up his chest, barks, and is like a energizer bunny.
