The Boston Celtics have shown interest in Jarvis Hayes and Von Wafer, source confirms.

From Celticshub, via Alex Kennedy's twitter.

Love it.

Von Wafer would be terrific at this point. Probably won't sign here, though. I'd expect him to stay in Europe.

Yeah, I'd be very happy with Von Wafer. He'd be a nice addition.

I am not a huge fan, but with Daniels locked up, he would be a decent compliment.

Von Wafer would be a steal, he is a good player off the bench.

I thought I heard somewhere that he's kind of a nut-case. But I've seen him play and he can shoot the 3 and finish on the break pretty well so I'm all for this.

I like his 3-pt stroke (34% career, 39% in 08 on 164 attempts) and he could be a nice asset on the fastbreak with his athleticism.

Young, athletic, cat hit the J and has shown he can contribute to a playoff team in 2008 w/ Houston. I'll take it.

*A head case? Maybe clashewd w/ his coach at times, but this is a C's team that handled Marbury/Sheed/N8 da G8 etc. I bet Von Wafer will have a good attitude after his European experience didn't go so well. He knows he needs to prove himself again, he is in the minimum bin after all..

Last time i witnessed(2008-09),Von Wafer had game.I haven't seen him play in over a season, there might be some decline or rust but he definitely was a good offensive weapon off the bench.

Ive heard and read some articles, posts in the past that he has some issues...after his disagreement with Rick Adelman the media began painting him as a diffucult player. Its not always the player thats fully at fault. From the disagreement i saw Von had with Aldeman,he was sent to the locker room to cool off.Maybe he had some things in his past i didn't know about but if the problems he got labeled as being a bad guy stemmed from the confrontation i witness he had with Aldeman, then it wasn't fair to hold that aganist him.

I say we should sign him if we can get him for the vet min. I look at him as a low risk, high reward type player. He can come off the bench, provide scoring something we desperately need and is really athletic. And signing him for whatever the vet min is wouldn't really hinder us too much as we're going to be over the cap anyways.

If things don't go well we can just release him seeing as most likely we will have other bodies to replace him. I like the fact that he can shoot pretty consistently, he can finish on the break, is athletic and that he is young. He already has playoff experience from his 08-09 season with the rockets, he can come play for a contender, get some decent minutes and hopefully provide us with some nice productive numbers. Its a win-win, he helps us and the big three in their closing window, and if he performs well he can possibly get himself a slightly more lucrative contract seeing as the new CBA is going to change things.

He's a good outside threat.  I would take him as the 14th or 15th man on the roster.

He reminds of JR Smith, but substituting TA handles for excellent ball-handling.

I think a Wafer/Robinson back-court would be a bit too wild and shot-happy.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

Von Wafer looking like one of the best options

Von Wafer is a head-case with injury issues who had exactly one decent NBA season. Also, he is an ex-Laker, which might be even worse.

Before he was drafted, he reportedly got frustrated by physical play in a workout for the Suns, intentionally elbowing a guy and bloodying his nose on a drive to the hoop, then walking of the court.  His college career was marred by a suspension and benchings due to attitude problems.  The guy once threw a fit because he was being taken out and got sent to the locker room by Rick Adelman in the middle of a playoff game.  He's been reported to yell at coaches and walk out in the middle of practice.

He failed a physical when the Rockets (and Grizzlies) tried to bring him back in 2009.  The reason he was available was because his Greek team was willing to part ways with him because of attitude problems that had resulted in Wafer being benched.  Some fans are suspicious that the Rockets said he failed his physical as a pretext to cover up that they decided that Von Wafer was still an unbearable ass.

He's athletic and a good scorer, but his reputation is that of a black hole who seeks only to score when he gets the ball and who doesn't rebound or play defense.  This is a guy who probably thinks he is good enough to take Ray Allen's starting job, then will pout when that doesn't happen.
