Ray Allen / Mike Miller/ TAllen
Rondo / Bradley / TAllen

I really like the idea of:

1. Bringing in a guy who can really shoot it at the 2/3 spot and prefer a swing guy that can spell both Pierce and Ray equally well. So I prefer Mike Miller actually because of his size.

2. Really, really, like the idea of the potential back court tandem of Bradley at the point with TAllen at the two guard spot. That's defensive mayhem off your bench.

3. If you want offensive mayhem pair Bradley with Ray or Miller.

4. I also like the flex of pairing a slasher like Rondo or TAllen with a shooter...

5. Finally, I like the fact that if nexessary, TA can come in and play the role of big defensive point against some of the bigger point guards.

Tony's defensive flexibility is a nice commodity to have.

Hoep they re-sign him and our rotation is:

Ray Allen / Mike Miller
Rondo / Bradley

TA > our fifth guard who can play both spots.

I'm in favor of bringing back TA and Nate Robinson behind Ray Allen and having Bradley work his way towards taking minutes from them.

Instead of a bench SG/SF, I want a bench SF/PF who can spell Pierce but also help Garnett get more rest.  I want someone on the bench who would not be undersized if he has to play against most starting small forwards.  I also want someone who would allow the team to rest Paul and Ray at the same time.

I'm not sure who fits that description that is available.  Michael Beasley, perhaps.  Young Travis Outlaw.

I think the rotation tends to be about a third wing, rather than a fourth guard. Something like:

SF 30-35, SG 30-35, PG 35-40
- first wing off the bench 25-30
- first guard off the bench 15

I'd like the first wing off the bench to be a SF that could play small PF. I'm not a huge fan of small ball, but I think that would give us more flexibility. Then you can play the first guard at PG or SG to make for better rotations. Whether that guard is Tony Allen or AB - they'll be able to guard either position (as can Rondo) so it should work defensively to have more of a size guy as the first wing.

Since the starters will be: Pierce, Allen, Rondo

My ideal would be to pick up a wing like: Deng, Ariza, Battier, Marvin Williams (my preferred guy)

My ideal (playing wise, not off the court-wise) guy for combo guard would be West.

I saw a rumor earlier that West may also have a partially guaranteed contract, like Gomes, but that doesn't get picked up until later in the summer - if that's true, I wonder if he could be had for the minimum late in the off season. I'd love to get Williams for Sheed and something and then run a team of:

MLE Big / Vet Min Big / Perk
KG / Baby
Pierce / Williams
Allen / Pierce / AB
Rondo / AB

(replace AB with West on a one year deal if possible, give AB time to develop.)

Some good ideas here.  I do like M. Williams for Sheed, though would prefer to get a true 4 or 5 whereas Williams is more of a 3/4.  Would love to sign Gomes with part of the MLE as that tall 3 who could fill in at the 4 in a small lineup.

I don't want West and his issues back, and want more heft in any guards we add to Rondo and Bradley.  Don't want to use any of the MLE on Gomes.  Want to use it on one higher-tier player this year.  Also, I'd love to have Tony back, but I don't want him playing PG.

Would love to see TMac in that rotation. A finisher in fastbreaks. Gives an intimidating impact.

Wow, did I just wake up and it was 2003 again?

I think TMac would be a good gamble at the minimum.

Gomes can't defend wings well. Williams would be a wing upgrade, not a big upgrade.

You'd still need a MLE big to replace Sheed and a vet min big to hold down the fort for Perk. Trading BBD with TA could be another upgrade option.

I would be happy with a Bradley/TA guard set off the bench as long as they add a SF with shooting range.

I would be happier if the add Reddick to the backcourt.

Yeah, another shooter off the bench would be nice if they can land a solid Center with Sheed's expiring.
