Just saw this article on Real GM. Wade is apparently in Chicago to meet with the Bulls. I know all these guys are meeting with multiple teams and in many cases it's a formality and the Home team has a big advantage, but...

Has anyone considered the poosiblity of a Rose, Wade, LeBron Trio, rather thean assuming Bosh with Wade or LeBron or both?

That would be just sick.

Noah / Brad Miller
Taj Gibson / Sign another mid level guy
LeBron / Deng
Wade / Heinrich
Rose / Augustin

You'd probably have to move Deng and Heinrich to make it work cap wise. But then you could use your mid level, LLE and Vet mins to put guys behind LeBron and Wade. That shouldn't be too hard to get guys to come in.

You could probably get a Travis Outlaw and James Jones types, which would be more than adequate.

Bron and Wade are plenty young to play 38-40 minutes a night right now...

Well, they would not have the MLE or LLE, and they would have to renounce Brad Miller.  Not to mention Hinrich has already been traded.  Not sure where Augustin came from.

But it would still be a very dangerous lineup.  And if they could trade Deng for a PF, it would be scary good, even if their entire bench was vet minimum players.

Wade is from Chi so it isn't surprising to here he is there.

I don't know if Heinrich is a good player -- is he better than Hinrich, who they already traded?

In how many threads now have people talked about teams that are 30m under the cap using their MLE? You don't get one if you are 30m under the cap. The MLE was introduced to allow teams over the cap to make moves.

I know that everything is just speculation these days but I can't get it out of my head that the best fit for Wade is Chicago. Granted, the windy city isn't Miami but in terms of players, you can't come up with too many better backcourts than Rose and Wade.  If Chi gets Wade, they could keep Deng and I think he would be a fine 3rd or 4th option (I remember some awesome defense on Pierce over the years).  Then I would see them going for Amare or Boozer, keep Noah and fill in around that.  This is all without even having to worry about Lebron or Bosh.

If it did go down that way, then what would Miami do?  They would be down to Beasley and Chalmers.  Wow.  Miami is really hanging out there.

Wade isn't going anywhere. He's just going thru the recruiting process. Wade isn't going to leave 30 million on the table. He's just waiting to see who Pat Riley can sign, then Wade will follow. This is nothing more than a courtesy visit and an excuse for Wade to go back to his hometown. He's never leaving Miami.

Wade is just going through the motions of free agency to maintain the façade of neutrality lest Stern fines him for tampering.

Yeah, when Wade asked for reinforcements over the last couple of years, Riley asked him to sign an extension first.  They've had a staring contest ever since, and Riles hasn't blinked.  If Wade wants help, thinks Riley, he can help recruit it by signing an extension.  Riley went all-in on free agency, and then doubled-down by not signing complementary players without being assured of his star.  Wouldn't it be something if Wade walked away and Miami has to be completely reconstituted from nothing?  An expansion team all over again.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Rose, Wade, and Lebron all have the same strengths and weaknesses. I think Rose and Lebron might be able to work if they get a shooter at the 2 and decides to let Rose run things, but not Rose, Wade, James. They all like to control the ball, they all have limited range, and they all will want to get their numbers (Rose maybe not so much).

Unless Miami is able to attract some other top notch free agents, like Bosh, LeBron, Dirk, etc.. then I could definitely see Wade going elsewhere.

Right now, Miami has stripped down their roster to nothing. Bosh is the one I think they have the best shot at landing. If he comes in with Wade and maybe Boozer, then I think wade stays, but if Bosh goes to NY/NJ or Dallas, then I think wade Bolts. He is tired of carrying that franchise on his back.

LBJ appears to be staying in Cleavland or going to Chicago. Dirk will stay in Dallas. Bosh will either go with LeBron, unless LeBron stays in Cleavland, then he probably goes with Wade. I think Chicago is the most attractive.

If LeBron stays in Cleavland, then he is a liar. He will become the Patrick Ewing of Cleavland. No rings. If he wants to win big, he will go to Chicago. They could make another Jordan like Run with Bosh, LeBron, Rose, Noah, Gibson, etc...
