Well that takes some of the luster off winning the tie-breaker against OKC and SA. The cap space clearing though is beginning to make me a little nervous wondering how many FAs teams are trying to stockpile.

odd move as far as value    youd imagine the 18 is more valuable than the 32  and daequan is a value of his own as a very good outside shooter so how the heck does that come out as an even trade?

Miami sheds $2.17 million in cap space for next season. That gets them significantly closer to two max contracts to put alongside Wade.

Yep, now they just need to trade us Beasley for Rasheed (who will be retiring shortly).

Great. The market is set. If Danny is going to move the Celtics 19th pick he has to give up it and Big Baby to get a high second rounder.

Geesh!!

So...Miami will have D.Wade...Chris bosh...Amare...and probably Ray Allen too----hmmm.

Chicago will have Rose...LeBron...Deng...Noah...but, we'll have a point guard who can't shoot free throws.

This is actually really great news for the Cs if Sheed is really going to retire.  It means there is quite a high value to teams to clear cap space; hence DA should get some value back.
Celtics fan for life.

Co-sign that one.

Using that trade value chart, does that mean the Celtics can trade 19th pick for the Wiz #1 pick and their 1st next year?

Let me get this straight. The Heat traded a 18th pick for a worst pick BUT HAVE TO give up a player?

wth...

Better yet, having seen Miami's mentality, make them move Beasley and a S&T for Haslem for Sheed's contract.  Might as well give that one a try based on that other trade they made

And yet still produces more than just about any other point guard in the league. Crazy.

You don't understand.  The Heat wanted to get rid of a player so they could create more cap space.  The Thunder are actually doing the Heat a favor by taking on Cook's contract.  So the Heat have to give the Thunder additional compensation for taking Cook off their hands (in addition to the salary of #18).
