I think it's no risk and high reward. This guy is two years removed from putting up Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Durant numbers in college. I say if the option to do this is there then take a chance on him maturing a little bit and playing better with the Celtic organization. The ability is there. The kid is barely 21.

Beasley is not a high character guy and could be trouble. I would just not prefer to go there. I don't like his game or his off the court baggage.

Sure, no one is perfect, but this kid has too much baggage for me. I would rather get Travis Outlaw and or Mike Miller, and develop a nice young player like Damien James from the Draft. Beasley is not worth a second round pick right now.

The mis-characterization of Michael Beasley in this thread is humorous.

As someone who knows him, and who knows people who know Beasley well, the kid needs to grow up. He needs people like KG, Pierce and Ray to teach him how to be a pro.

If you wanted Beasley, you'd probably have a better chance of working out a sign and trade for Ray Allen, if RA wants too much money for too long and Miami really wants to have a shooter next to Dwayne Wade.  You'd probably be getting Daequan Cook plus filler to balance out salaries.  The Heat reportedly would like to have Allen, with talk of Wade sliding over to PG.

Wholeheartedly agreed. You take a kid with known maturity & focus issues and put him in south beach and expect him not to have off-the-court issues? It was a recipe for disaster to begin with.

But under the wing of KG, he can flourish. He's got the talent and ability, all that's missing is the dedication. Luckily, that's something he can learn. I expect Danny to inquire about him again - whether it takes Sheed's retiring/expiring contract or a sign & trade for Ray, he will make a run. I hope.

I say think Chauncy Billups.  Think how many seasons it took for him to figure it out.  Beasley may not figure it out next year but I feel he will an when he does, he will be good.
