lol :(

I am young and never really had a team before. I always like the big 3 seperate and always liked the celtics but once the big 3 came I was in love. Last year it bothered me that they lost but it didn't feel like this. I guess because I expected it with KG out.

But right now I seriously feel like a little girl because all I want to do is cry. It feels like a pet died or my gf broke up with me.

I went through alot these last few months in my life. Started around the CLE series and it was something hard for me to do but i had to do it (not wanting to be to personal). The celtics kept me strong and as sad as it sounds looking forward to there games helped me stay focused and fight the demon I was fighting at the time.

What do I do now that there are no more games? How do I get rid of this feeling and what is the silver lineing in this year. I cant even go to sleep i'm so sad. Maybe some of you can give me some words of wisdom from multiple heart breaker seasons

You'll get over it.
I'm almost 60 and I feel the same way right now. And that's crazy, but it's just a diversion, not real life.
With a couple of new players(who will be the next James Posey?) next year, hope will spring eternal and we'll all be back here complaining about the refs:)

It hurts but life goes on. Just remember there are people out there with real significant problems.

As long as a basketball game is the only thing we have to worry about we have allot to be thankful for.

That is the best advice you'll get. It does hurt. A lot. Ultimately though, it has no bearing on our lives; or at least it shouldn't.

9-3 Head to Head - hardly a contest
17 Banners  vs 11 (I don't count 5 from Minnesota)

The only thing real in LA is the smog

What a stupid thing to say. It's been the same franchise it's always been, it simply moved. The fact is, the lakers franchise has won 16 now and is within 1 of your total. All I see is denial. As for the 9-3 thing, well, different times, different teams, and this laker team just proved to you that they are the better team at this point.

Yes, I did make an account just to respond to that, because it is so absurd.

The Lakers franchise has won 15 NBA titles, because 1948-1949 was a BAA title. NBA started after that.

And yes, it's absurd to argue, but that's the way it was.

congrats for the championship, and please, pay some respect to the Minnesota Lakers if you want to claim their titles. This is from a Celtic fan, and you know Celtics respect tradition.

Good luck

@lJesterl: TP, don't stop enjoyng sports, it's good entertainment, and sometimes they teach us something. Look at the big picture of this playoff run: the Celtics are the best TEAM in the NBA, and we can get inspiration in how they have dealed with adversity. Look for those people who are near you, we all need to feel that we belong, we need respect and love from others, and we cannot be human without being part of a "we". That's what Ubuntu means.

Love and respect to all my Celtic brothers and sisters. Ubuntu!

Is it really stupid? Consider the consequences, then. If you "give" the five rings to LA, doesn't that mean you're "taking away" the same five rings from the Minnesota Lakers fans? Fans who poured their hearts out to support the team, and without whom, the team would not have had the income to support the necessary victories for those five rings? And if I were Bill Gates or Mark Cuban and I wanted to have an obscene number of NBA championships, I can offer the lakers organization 1 billion dollars and voila! i'm the proud new owner of the Dallas Lakers, winner of 16 NBA championships? does it mean then, that championships are for sale?

Is it such a stupid thing to say?

Yes, it is. It goes the other way to, because if you don't count the 5 from Minnesota, you are doing an injustice to the fantastic players that made it happen. Saying "Oh, you moved. Sorry, gotta start from 0!" IS a stupid thing to say. It would be like erasing the things all those players worked so hard for.

That's what I'm saying though. It's the same franchise it's always been. It simply moved, teams do that. We aren't "claiming" the Minnesota Lakers titles, because they were ours to begin with.

I feel you, man.  I still have a sick feeling in my stomach and it won't go away!

Welcome to being a real Boston Sports fan. I can't tell you how to deal with the life stuff, but know that out there are people, even strangers, who will root for you and support you. As for the lack of games, you can become another basketball junkie and talk about the season, the draft, and the upcoming season. There are plenty of other good sports or hobbies to get you through the down time. We've had a special thing with the Celts these past few years so remember it and be happy to have been around to see it.
