Short on time, but it has bothered me all postseason.

Before anyone yells at me, let me start by saying I know perk was never the second coming of david robinson. that being said, he had evolved into a decent, high percentage, albeit very limited,  option in the half court. now it seems as though unless he is wide open under the hoop, he is completely incapable of scoring. at one point last year, with no KG, he was a good 4th or 5th option in the half court with his jump hook and short turnaround jumper. he was never going to be a 20 PPG guy, but I am amazed when he gets the ball now. not only is he incapable of scoring, his shots do not even come close.

again, i know he was never a great low post player, and I know it is tough if dwight howard is on him (in which case, he should not be shooing anyway). but to me, he has regressed big time offensively.
"Maybe now you'll never slime a guy with a positron collider, huh?"

I close my eyes whenever he call for the ball and makes his 5 minute move to the basket. I don't know what's the problem with him. But I do know that if he calls for the ball more than 3 feet out from the rim, rondo should give him the finger and not pass to him.
Back to wanting Joe fired.

I think we are a better team when Perk isn't looking for his shot....so I am on the "less-is-more" side of the fence on this.  ;)

Doesn't seem like the team is going to Perk inside as much anymore, which is fine by me since I think he's a black hole once the ball's in his hands.

Maybe his offensive production started to take a hit when Rondo started becoming a beast? I dunno. The first part of the season Perk was putting up OK numbers, and then practically nothing.

There is too large a difference between early season Perk and late season Perk ...

Something must have caused it. An injury seems the most likely cause.

I don't think Perk's game has regressed Offensively - he's just extremely rusty. Perk averaged 12+ rebs, 3 blocks and 12+ PTs just a year ago - when both KG and Powe were hurt in the playoffs.

Perk was our Only Offensive Low Post threat last year - against both CHI (A very good Joakim Noah) and ORL (Dwight) in the playoff run.

He seems out of it this year, because we now have Sheed taking some touches from him, and KG is finally rounding into game form.

He may be injured as well, like the thread suggests.

If you noticed earlier this season, Perkins was averaging about 14-15 pts per game. His final regular season average was over 10, at 10.1 pts per game, which shows steady progression for him since he's been in the league. His PPG average is going up nearly every yr, save I think his 06-07 season.

I really hope Danny doesn't trade him - I really see Perkins as having a breakout season next year.

I have lost all confidence in Perk on the offensive end. Giving the ball to Perk on that end is a mistake waiting to happen.

I don't think Perk is 100% and that hinders his mediocre footwork before the fact that he still is rather slow to his moves, before the shot.

Yes, Perk's offense has regressed. I think injuries and confidence on offense has hurt him. I expect him to bounce back after he has regrouped in the summer.

He's also just rushing a little too much with Howard around.

The Big Guy has GOT to start taking his jump-shot again ... I don't care if he's shooting 25%, he's become far to easy to defend outside the paint, and he has to keep the defenses honest. That's pretty much the only glaring complaint I have with Perk's offense.

Perk's confidence has taken a hit if nothing else. Considering he was on the injury report before Game 3 against the Cavs as well cause of knee issues, I wouldn't be against thinking that's still lingering.

I agree with Bahku about shooting a jump shot. If he's wide open from five feet, it can't be asking for too much of him to put up ONE of those shots per game.

Yep, I agree. I think he's playing through the injury and it limits him a bit.
