D Howard says Magic are too good to get swept...and other stuff

The Magic ARE too good to get swept, talent wise. As far as heart and determination it is pretty clear that they aren't too good on that side of things. Dwight would have been better though to keep his mouth shut and come out and drop 30 and 20 on us and win a game. That just shows us that he doesn't know what it takes yet to win.

If D. H.  believed in his team he would be saying "We are still in this" or "This is not over yet."  Saying "We are not going to lose" is not the same as saying "We are going to win this game," and believing it!

I think Dwight's problem is he's focusing too much on scoring instead of on rebounding and defense which are the things he needs to do to help his team win. I understand why they're struggling on offense but their defense could be better and it starts with him.

They might be good enough to not get swept, but the celtics are playing well enough to sweep them.

What happened is that a group of aliens took over our team (those of you who watched “Space Jam” know exactly what I’m talking about). These aliens took our guys’ abilities and placed them in separate places. So we haven’t been playing with our real team. I’ve spent the past couple of days hunting these aliens down, and I’m proud to say that I have destroyed them all, and I’ve restored all the powers to my team. I feel they are now ready to go and take the win in Game 4.

On a more serious note, what’s good about this team is that we understand that we have not played a good game yet. We have not put together a complete game in this series, and today is our last chance to do it. I’ve seen it in the guys’ eyes and I see hope there. They are going to go out and play an inspired game.

We are going to win this game because the aliens are all gone. What you will see tonight is the team that I am used to playing with – the same team that won 59 games and played great in the first two playoff series. The guys are going to leave it all on the floor and are going to take this series back to Orlando. This team is certainly equipped to do it. No other team in NBA history has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit. But if a team is going to make history, it might as well be us. We’re going to simply work to win the first quarter, then the second quarter, the third and the fourth. And we’ll go from there.

I guess that I am also in the "what is the big deal with these comments" camp.  There is plenty to be critical of him like the goofing with the crowd during the other game but not this.  He gets asked goof-ball questions by goof-ball reporters constantly so I cut him some slack.

I never would have predicted a sweep but I also never thought Orlando was as good as they were being talked about (I think the players listened to the hype too much as well).  I thought CLE was way better and I think both LA and PHO are both much better than ORL.  It was very surprising that they had such an easy time with Atlanta and in retrospect, that was probably what set them up for this fall.  They started to believe the hype that they were better than they really were.  The Celtics provided a very harsh dose of reality for them.

I hope Howard figures out how to just put his head down and play this out.  If he goofs around or talks too much, he is going to look like a fool.

They should be too good to get swept.  A 59 win team shouldn't be swept by anybody, no matter how hot they are.  But, here we are

problem is orlando has said they are the better team after every loss...they continue to not give boston any credit.
