I don't think so.  He's from Ohio, he's already played for Cleveland for 7 years, brought them pretty far into the playoffs for a bunch of those seasons and to the finals once, and would be turning down $20 million dollars more to stay than to go anywhere else.  The fans in Cleveland want him more than anyone else because their the only ones who know what its like to go from not having him to having him.  They have the history.

I just think about it by trying to imagine a similar hypothetical situation with Paul Pierce.  If he left after 7 seasons here I think Boston fans would feel more bitter about it rather than the potential fans who wanted him and didn't get him.

Eh..arguably you'd like to think him leaving is a slap to Cleveland's face by itself. But, Cleveland MIGHT understand if he went to NY and NJ to "follow the money".

Anyways, I've always felt that basketball wise his best choice is Miami if Wade stays, though I'm not sure they would want to play together yet if at all. But, that's almost a guaranteed Championship regardless of who you put around them.

After that I say the Nets are just a great place for him to go. They have a ton of cap space + a lot of cheap young assets that they can retain, some of them quite talented.

And it's a tie between Chicago and the Clippers. I don't know why the Clippers are being overlooked so much, talented young core with Griffin who even though hasn't played yet, really looks to be what he's been hyped as.

I agree. I really think his best options are chicago and the clippers. The both have the best combination of big market city and young, strong, supporting cast already in place. Can you imagine lebron with Rose, Noah, Deng, and Hinrich? That's a pretty tough team to beat. In LA he would have Griffin, Kaman, Gordon, and Baron Davis. Both good choices, but I would go with the bulls. The only drawback in chicago is the jordan comparisons that would come with it.

I think NJ and Chicago would be the two best destinations from a pure basketball point of view, assuming there's no sign-and-trade involved.

Donald Sterling would be enough to keep almost anyone away from the Clips, even though they look like they have the supporting pieces. 

Why, when people tout the Nets, do they always mention Courtney Lee along with Lopez, Harris and the #1 pick?  He's just a 10 ppg role player, IMHO, waaaay overrated.

I agree that if NJ falls out of the top 2 they take Favors.  Cousins has too much downside.

The positives for Lebron here add up quickly.

*Lebron could be this teams entire history, simililar to the way that Durant holds EVERY Thunder record because it's considered different from the Sonics.

*Lopez > Shaq+Big Z  (and younger)

*Wall+Harris > Mo+Parker  (and younger)

*If Lebron lands there it is very likely that another superstar player would follow.

*After all this the team would have:

PG: Wall, Harris
SG: Lee
SF: Lebron
PF: Humphries
 C: Lopez

... and they'd only have a cap hit of about 42 million. Can you say Bosh, Stoudemire, or Boozer?
