I don't think Hubie has anything against the Celtics, but as an announcer he annoys me for two reasons:

1)  He feels the need to constantly talk and explain everything like he's talking to a five-year old.  Some of it is insightful, but for the most part his constant talking is taking away from the game being played.

2)  He will NEVER disagree with a call made by a referee.  This is why I like listening to Jeff Van Gundy.   JVG has an opinion, which when combined with his basis for the opinion it becomes insightful.

I agree. Hubie seems to focus on some aspects too much and miss things he should be commenting on. I hated him when he was a player player but I'd throw Jon Barry in there as someone I'd rather listen to.

Hubie is my favorite commentator of all time.  Love him.  I guess the OP missed Hubie gushing about Rondo, Pierce, Wallace, Tony Allen, and especially... Shelden Williams!  It seems that a lot of die hard C's fans are paranoid of anyone not named Tommy or Mike.  Hubie was great last night.

Hubie's like a low-key Dick Vitale - he loves to watch good basketball and says so.  He also said a couple of times last night that he hopes Rondo develops an outside shot, and that he loved Shelden's play.

Making statements that favor things that the other team did isn't being biased, it's just rooting for good play.

i can't stand listening to hubie brown. everything isstats stats stats. so and so averages 30 points on fridays when it's raining kinda crap.he definitely is knowledgaeable but his delivery is as if he is teaching and i find that really annoying. i'm pretty sure tommy heinsohn has said something anti-hubie . i read somewhere that hubie used to knock all players that would coach.. like actors get upset when rappers get their roles or something.
as to why hubie may dislike the celtics, i thought mchale offered hubie brown's knicks the c's playbook because mchale said they could not stop them anyway.hubie is called some kind of bball genius but i don't think his win loss record is very good. could be wrong on that one.

  • Rondo = Good
I like Clark Kellog a lot, and Kevin Harlan too.

But maybe that's just because I play too much NBA 2k10.
