They lost their edge. I know you can say they won 2 playoff games, but those teams weren't on their level. If they were going for perfection they would have been playing with more of an edge and toughness.

Thank God.  I'm so happy that we don't need to listen to an offseason full of a Peyton Manning lovefest.

I don't know if going for the perfect season would've made a difference.

The Saints had a good gameplan going.  Colts could've easily gone 18-1.  I'm not sure it wouldn've made the difference.

Well, Peyton Manning certainly wanted to go for the undefeated season.  When he was taken out in that Jets game, he never sat down and never took his helmet off. He knows you only get one shot in your career at a perfect season and immortality.  He had already won MVP and a superbowl.

Maybe if Dungy was still the coach, they would have gone for the perfect season.  He had already won a superbowl.

If they don't turn the ball over on the opening kick off they could have easily won the Superbowl.

I don't think the Colts did anything wrong this season except lose the last game.

I don't understand why in the world you wouldn't go for a perfect season at that point. I know a lot of people will disagree, but truth is, someone wins the Super Bowl every year, But a prefect season doen't happen very often. They had an excellant chance to be the only 19-0 team of all time. That's something people would remember and talk about for years to come.

But they do have that regular season win streak record now.  ;)

Colts would have pulled their players in the blizzard in Buffalo and would have lost to the Bills anyway.  In fact, when they pulled their starters they were already losing to Buffalo.  No way they play everyone all the way through that blizzard even with a perfect season on the line.

And frankly the Saints are just a better team.
