Tonight's loss has two simple explanations:
- Doc left our two worst rebounding big men, Sheed and Davis, in the game too long in the second half. They got in with a 6 point lead and got out with a 6 point deficit as the cavs killed us in the paint.
- Doc ran Rondo to the ground. When KG and Perk got back in, the cavs stopped going to the paint and started shooting wide open three pointers. They were wide open because Rondo had played 42 consecutive minutes at that point and couldn't keep up with Mo Williams.
It is really that simple.
When Sheed and Davis got in, it was 70-64 celtics. When they got out, it was 84-78 cavs. Of those 20 points, 12 were in the paint.
Then, with KG and Perkins back in, the cavs only scored 6 of their last 24 points in the paint (and 2 of those were Powe in garbage time).
But by this time Rondo was gassed, and Mo Williams dropped 11 points on him and the game got out of hand.
