keeping ray allen seriously hampers this team for the future.

Not as badly as trading him for a bad contract does.  I agree that they need to do whatever they can to make a big trade, but they are much better off standing pat than making a panic move that ties their hands down the road for minimal talent.

That trade will be an ownership one - do the Maloofs want to get rid of Nocioni's deal badly enough to ship out their 2nd best player?  It is a business decision - not a basketball one.

That's fine.  But the problem is, I don't think they have the value to get Martin.  I don't think its just a matter of taking on Nocioni's contract, I think they are looking for some more value in return that the C's don't have.  If Sacramento will do Ray and a first for Martin and Nocioni, I think the deal will be done.  However, I don't think that will be enough.

You know who would have helped this trainwreck in the making?

Marcus Camby.  Not sure if we matched up contract-wise, but he's what could turn this mess around.

The problem is defense.

...We don't need more bigs.

I beg to differ. This team is 29th in the league in rebounding. I have watched game after game where other teams are killing them on the offensive glass. Just because the Celtics have some big guys doesn't mean they couldn't use to replace some with bigs who rebound.

unfortunately I'm not thinking positive, since I can't see how this team could compete, expecially in a playoff series.

Sounding more and more like we're gonna stand pat.

Awesome.
