man yall see Rondo on the HORSE comp he was raining them from long range. do you guys think just somehow and way this might carry into the rest of the season? lol looks like its a confidence thing with him and he looked pretty confident out there.

if rondo could hit the 3 ball at even a decent percentage he'd be dangerous

his shooting is already improved, but I doubt that the horse competition will have much of an effect.  If you watch these guys warm up before games they usually knock down all of their open shots.  It's in the game that it become a problem.

I swear I use to watch Detlef Schrempf warm up before Sonics games in the mid 90s and the guy NEVER missed.  Maybe one shot out of 50 would rim out.

He's made 9 out of his last 20. He doesn't take many in general so a good proportion of his threes are end of quarter or late in the shot clock. He hits a decent rate otherwise.

During horse rondo was calm and focused to shoot the threes. When he plays in real games he is antsey , shifty, over thinking etc which causes him problems to shoot.

I think as he matures he will be a better shooter. In addition there is no need for him to jump so high or wind so much back to shoot and just needs to not overdo his motions before shooting.

It just proves how great NBA players really are.  He has very nice form when he takes the time to set himself.  That was clear even a couple of  years ago but, he has to be confident when he shoots.  It's really all on him.  The talent is there for him to be a consistent threat.  Just SHOOT it.

Other than he refined his form last summer with Mark Price. His form didn't look good at all in the past.

Is it just me or when he shoots 3s it looks so much smoother than his mid-range jumpers? Maybe he should do the Kidd thing for now and think about shooting respectably from 3 so teams will think twice about sagging all the way off him.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

Yep he refined it but the basics were there.  It's just like his FT shooting.  When he takes his time and is confident (make a few) he doesn't even think about it.  Mark Price even commented on the fact that he believes he'll get better as his career moves forward.

I think going, fitting in, and being useful in the AS game will probably help him just as much.  Not in a dramatic way, but just as a subtle boost in his confidence and having already proven himself.

Great idea. Jason Kidd has maintained his effectiveness not through the midrange game, but by draining those 3's. If Rondo patterned his game after Jason Kidd he would be in good shape. After all, Jason Kidd is a first ballot Hall of Famer without ever having any semblance of a midrange game.
