You've got old guys, you've got injured guys, you've got complacent guys.  And you've got guys who have been playing for the same coach for a long time.  Perhaps the long time under Doc is as much a factor as anything Doc does or doesn't do.
There's definitely a shelf life for NBA coaches...and you can't deny that this team is showing signs of Doc's shelf life being expired.  Perkins is the one who really comes to mind.  He's the one who looks most disinterested to me...and you can look at the fact that the C's are a horrible rebounding team right now as an extension of that.

no reason at all for this team to be in the way bottom of rebounding in the nba. rondo helps a ton, as does PP. all the bigs have to do is hold their own and we would be OK.

it will be OK, leon should be back soon. oh wait, we did not retain him for some reason.

Like he blew out his knee, and will be lucky if he returns to 70% this year (which is not a quality NBA player)?

we shall see

he will be back and helping the cavs down the stretch and in the playoffs this year. but hey, at least we have sheldon williams.

imho, not re-signing powe was an error. i want guys like that on my team, the knee injury not withstanding. the cavs are paying him next to nothing.

I would rather the C's lose every game than to have to hear about Leon Powe or James Posey ever again.

Please let these dead horses lie in peace.  Neither is any good or healthy.

He's NOT ... I've been questioning the second-half rotations and poor adjustments for a while now. While I still think Doc is a great coach, he is certainly not above reproach. When the team wins, they all deserve praise ... when they lose, they all deserve criticism, and the coaching staff is no exception.

Come on. Didn't you watch Posey battle Scal to a near draw last night? I'd love to get a player like that back on the Celts for  around 3 years/$20M...

Posey/Powe are the Paul Bunyan's of Red Sox... err Celtics nation.  Posey was obviously the missing piece in New Orleans and was the main reason for KGs knee going bad.  Doc having to overplay him because Wyc and Danny went cheap last year.
Powe as well setting aside the whole injured since last season issue.  They were the 2 cornerstones that made the 07/08 team the Champions that they were. Maybe someday we will find fitting replacements for them and the C's can play like Champions again..

A couple of minutes when we were down 6 yesterday, Doc took a timeout, drew a play, just so that we can all see at Rondo dribbling for most of the shot clock and hoisting a contested jumper. Somehow I don't see this as Doc's fault. The players have to execute. Or at least attempt to.

My bad on the COY thing.

Still, if the players are openly disregarding what Doc says, things still fall back on him. If he's lost control of the team to that extent, it's time for him to go.

we are probably all grumpy watching the c's play, but i never said a word about posey. others have thrown his name in there to support their point, but my point was about powe. if powe is done, i will be the first to admit i was wrong, but to me, not re-signing him and going after sheldon williams was a mistake.

and powe was not the reason the c's won a title, but i do remember a game 2 where he did carry us to a win. he was also a solid role player every time he stepped on the floor. and since we cannot rebound the ball, it would be nice to have his return around the corner. not a lifesaver, but a nice addition.

oh well, we can agree to disagree.  one way or another, this team has to do something and fast.
