I thought this might be worth raising.

Let's say Sheed were traded to Phili as part of a deal for Iggy & Delambert -- he's obviously not going to pick up his third year option there. I also think he'd freak, refuse to play for that team and likely would accept a favorable buy out of the remainder of his deal just to take the money -- say, half of his 2010 salary -- and move on. of course he'd then go sign with cleveland or la or someone for the vet to try and exact revenge, but that would probably work in the Cs favor anyway.

It's a thought....

Sheed isn't going anywhere, these threads about him are getting ridiculous and old in a hurry.

The next vet Danny offered a multi-year contract to would be a lot less likely to sign it.

very true. i agree with drucci he's not going to be traded, but he'd take a lower buyout than just about any nba player i can think of.

I dont see the logic in trading sheed anyway. Come playoff team everyone that has been bashing him all year will really see how important he is for this team. Its still early yet, and we still have a top 4 seed in the east clinched easily.

you mean he'll start playing like he cares in the playoffs? phew. for a minute there i thought he might have something to do with all those runs other teams are going on when he's on the floor, and those lay-ups other teams get while he stands and watches them fill the spot where he's supposed to be.

Rasheed has a 15% trade kicker and would collect a ton of money.

He'd be unhappy, but he'd take his money.

Exactly.  He would likely come up with an "injury" or two, and possibly even talk to the GM about a buyout (not giving up much of anything), but he is not walking away from that option.

However, if the C's win a championship this year or next, I could see him retiring.
