Quote from: Bankshot on January 09, 2010, 11:28:39 AMI don't think he's like Gerald Green. I think he does have some inkling how to play. He has some college experience and played very well. Quote Junior (2006-07): Played in and started 15 games, averaging 32.2 minutes. Averaged 12.1 points, 6.9 rebounds and 5.0 blocks per contest. Posted a triple-double against Duquesne with 19 points, 10 rebounds and 13 blocks. Opened the season with 12 blocks and 10 rebounds in a game at Providence. Chipped in with 10 points, 11 rebounds and seven blocks in BC’s ACC-opening game win over Marylandhttp://www.nba.com/draft2007/profiles/SeanWilliams.htmlI would trade Walker or Giddens for him. Get him in here and see if he can be salvaged. Maybe being around a vet team is what he needs. If not, cut him.He was fairly limited offensively in his days at BC and was almost always out of position defensively. He had the blocks but it was often because he was caught out of position. Playing at the NBA level, he's come nowhere to duplicating any of his college performances plus the competition is a lot tougher than what he was facing then. Not too mention, he got thrown off the team and killed a team that had the potential to make the Final Four.

Quote from: xmuscularghandix on January 09, 2010, 01:59:16 PMI like Sean Williams more than Sheldon Williams. Sheldon can't catch...Sean can't play. Seriously, though, I don't think there's much of a comparison. On a per minute basis, Shelden leads in points, rebounds, assists, FG%, and FT%, and has fewer turnovers and personal fouls. Sean gets more steals and has more blocks.Link

How did he kill a team with potential to make a final four? That 2006-07 BC basketball team was a very solid basketball team with a great mix of young and experienced talent (Dudley, Marshall, Rice, etc.). They were a legitimate contender to win the ACC and expectations were high for that team to go deep into the NCAA tournament. Williams getting booted from the team in January didn't help matters at all. BC still ended up playing well enough to advance to the ACC semis and lost a tough one to Georgetown in the 2nd round of the NCAAs. The loss of Williams hurt a very talented squad.
This is the shot blocking monster from New Jersey, not the shawne williams of Dallas.

He can`t play basketball. Just doesn`t understand the game. He is the Gerald Green of centers. Great physical ability but doesn`t have any idea how to play the game...He will be out of the league in a year or two...

Why would the Nets take on Humphries' salary, which is greater than Najera's? It seems like a pretty marginal upgrade to cut into their cap space, if only to a minor degree.
