Well, since we are talking about Kobe...

I just recalled that this is a man who once recently held LA hostage by his trade demands.

He also has thrown his team under the bus, publicly..just a few years ago.

Paul Pierce has suffered through the life-threatening attack back in 2000, I believe..came back to play that season (unexpectedly) and has culminated all of this with a ring (maybe 1 or two more).

All of this and I don't ever recall Pierce throwing his team or the Celtics Organization under the bus...at the worst point of Pierces' career, he went about his "Trade Demand" like a gentleman..at the most, he just said that there was the possibility of him leaving Boston (back in 2007) if the team could not bring in better players. Well we all know what has happened since then.

My point in all of this is that yes Pierce has made mistakes throughout his career, but IMO he has always been Team-First. IMO, Kobe hasn't always done this.

In Kobe's defense he has improved in this (Teamwork) aspect, though. Better players make a situation easier.

Paul Pierce is actively being ignored by the press and the mainstream public.
FWIW, this was "a survey of a panel of players and coaches", so the mainstream public and the media have little to do with it.

I do not consider Pierce a top tier bball IQ, nor do I consider Carmelo at this point.

I think KG has as much as both put together.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.
