Now that Bill Walker is in the D-league does that mean there is an open spot for somebody to sign with us? Just wondring sorry if this has already been posted or something.

nope not all.  We have 15 roster spots whether or not someone is in the D league.

No. He still takes up a roster spot if he's in the D-league.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

At least he won't be lonely. When Baby and Tony get back he'll get to hang with his buds JR and Lester.

Because JR isn't trying to rehab from an injury, and didn't miss all of camp.

I think Walker will surpass JR at some point this season, but for right now, they need to get Walker on the floor to get him back in game shape after the surgery.

Because Walker is a) rehabbing, and b) has a great deal of room for growth.

Giddens is old for a second year player -- he's peaked. He is and will always be awful. His stints on the floor are so ugly to watch it basically defies logic that he's on an NBA court.

That we could have had The Fresh Prince before him just kills me. He's exactly the type of player this team needs.

I'd expect as soon as walker is playing shape he's back on c's.  If jr & tony aren't gone in a trade giddens will be to d league.  We can use walkers energy and obviously sf is a thin posistion.  I personally would like to see hudson stay and get some pt.  Eddie's shooting has been horrible why not give lester some burn

Exactly, this is a good thing for Walker. Hopefully the send down won't be for too long.

But who knows, right now I don't think he or Giddens will get minutes this season barring a spat of injuries.

Well, it all depends on who else is healthy.  If everyone is healthy, Walker will stay with the D-league team.  Guys like Tony, Scal, and Davis, will all dress in front of Walker, as will Lester, because of his position.

But I think within a month or so, if there is a spot open for either Walker or Giddens, Walker will be the one getting it.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Walker chipped in 13 pts, 3 rbs and 4 pf's last night in 25 mins. Those 3 rbs and 4 fouls are a good indicator that he's a lil behind.

I really hope that Walker is just down there because he's still on his way back from that injury.

I like Walker's enthusiasm and athletism.  But nothing he has done in games has shown him to be even remotely NBA ready.  Especially for an elite team.

Hudson, basketball IQ wise, looks ions ahead of Walker.

Doesn't matter.  Barring catostrophic injuries, neither of these two or Giddens will see remotely meaningful minutes.  Rivers won't play them.
