I'm concidering installing DISH Network at my house, but wondering if any of you have had any experience with the service and can let me know about it, good or bad. It would be helpful.

Thanks in advance.

I've had some issues with Dish, and the NBA League Pass. I'll set up a game to record, and for reasons unknown to their techs, the program will play back only the first 30 seconds before skipping to the end. No amount of fastforwarding or rewinding will allow for playback of the program.

I've had this happen a few times, and each time I've contacted their Tech Support/Customer Service, they've had no idea how to prevent or rectify the situation. It's happened only a few times, and only when I've tried recording League Pass events, but the next time it does will probably be the straw that breaks this camel's back.

That aside, the price is great, and their Customer Support staff have always been very helpful and accommodating. It's hard being an angry caller with them, because they are so nice.

I've had that same problem happen Lucky --- but with programming other than just League Pass ... and sometimes when i've seen 1/2 the program. It's really frustrating but it only happens like once in a while. I guess if it happened more with C's games (as opposed to Daily Show or Iron Chef...) it'd drive me more crazy.

Overall though i've been very happy with Dish/League Pass (esp. since my time with DirectTV was sooo terrible).

Lucky replied first, so i'd nominate him, but if you say you were recommended by someone they and you get some $ rebated. If Lucky's not interested PM me  :)

Interesting, GC. It's never happened to me any other time with non-League Pass programming.

I recently asked them point-blank to send me a new receiver, so I'm curious to see if that might prevent future problems.

I am certainly not a fan. They told me by ordering the sports package that I would be able to watch a lot of the Red Sox game on NESN and most of the Celtics games on CSNNE. I have been on the phone with customer service more than any other service [of any kind] I have ever had and it seems their fix is to always give me a $5 credit. I am currently being charged $10 per month more than I should, but am also getting a $10 dollar credit for a year, so I am just going to leave it at that for now.

I understand that they obviously want you to get League Pass- it obviously makes them more money than the $6.99/mo I pay for their sports package, but I wish they would freakin' stop lying to me!

...also, AFTER I had the dish installed, the guy told me I couldn't get HD because of a big tree in the way. I really may have reconsidered if I had known this upfront. I am not an HD whacko or anything, but I certainly would like to have it for some things.

Ive had dish Network for about 7 years. League pass for 4 and Dish DVR for 1.

League pass works great .. like it should, Dish, in general, has been good or I would have changed. rarely looses signal even when its bed/ windy out. And it gets windy here ( near the ocean )

Dish DVR is pretty bad though, IMO. Sometimes it just doesnt record things at all. Which is annoying. Other times it deletes itself, and the menus / set up for the DVR are so wack and annoying to go through.

Like I told you earlier; I took around 6-7 hrs. to get the dishes on top of my one-floor house and by the time it took 2 guys to install three different DVRs: One 722, one 655 and one 311 or something like that, and program each one; besides uninstalling the One-Link cables, it was nightime. They started at 1:30PM. Dishnet hasnt missed a beat and the recording with my 722 has been faultless. Havent missed the signal yet, but it has hardly rained neither. Im very happy I made the swith.

DirecTV is vastly superior IMHO.
