That's fun.

I'm looking forward to seeing Hedo in a Raptors jersey. I think he's a good fit there, they badly need a wing who can create off the dribble.

they certainly will be better next year, but what about the year after.

I wonder if Colangelo thinks this is the move that keeps Bosh in TOR. If not, then how does this move make sense because there's no way for them to offer two max deals next year to team Bosh up with another superstar....

Just saw Toronto Globe and Mail is reporting the same: 5 years, over $50 million.

To do so, Toronto woulde renounce the rights to Marion, Anthony Parker, and Carlos Delfino. I'd like to see Danny go after any of the three with the LLE (even if Marion wouldn't accept that).

P.S. Reading that a sign-and-trade of Turkoglu to Toronto involving Marion, Parker, or Delfino is still possible. That would make things interesting: Marion in Orlando?

That would suck.

Cab anyone tell me if Portland might go after Rasheed now with a bigger than 5.8 million contract. They do have the money and they have an excellent team. Beat the Lakers twice last season.

I doubt it.  Portland wants to get some veteran guys but I don't think they want to tie up their cap in guys at the end of their career.

I think this is great news for Portland.  Hopefully there won't be a sign and trade with Orlando, but I don't they could afford all that anyway.  Orlando would be stacked beyond comprehension if that happened.

Lets hope the celts at least work the lines, see what it takes to get a Marion/Parker here in Boston.  All we hear about is developments with Sheed.  What are the Celts doing in other areas.  It's funny that we've heard almost nothing about any other free agent.

Am I the only one sort of disgusted by Hedo's prostitution er.. I meant FA money search. If I was Dwight I wouldn't look him in the face after bailing on the Magic when they made it to the finals.

I don't know, but I am kinda leery of trying to make snap judgments of people I know not at all.  Turk has paid his dues and this will likely be his only big contract.  These are free countries, let him go where he wants.  Toronto has a  lot of appeal for foreign players.

I have been forced to take this guys game seriously in seeing his success against Pierce.  Good luck Turk, except against Boston.  As for Portland?  I'm sure they and their fans feel left at the alter, but what fan hasn't been disappointed.  No Big deal.

This bums me out.  I liked Hedo in Portland.  They would have been a tough matchup for L.A.  If they get Odom or Marion it could still be a good summer for them.

Toronto will be a fun team to watch when their shots are falling.

Brian Colangelo was going to spend the money anyway. I'd rather have Hedo Turkoglu over Marion + Delfino + Parker.

I think this is better for the Raptors in the medium term. Short term, it may hurt. Long term? That depends on what happens next, hard to say.

Idiotic move by Turk.

Raptors aren't going to be a real threat this year in the post-season (who knows if they'll even make the playoffs?), and they might be pretty bad in a year or two if Bosh leaves.

On the other hand, Portland is on the up-and-up, and they could be the 2nd or 3rd best team in the West this year, especially if they were to get Hedo.

Hedo looks like a real money grubbing loser if he goes with Toronto over Portland just for a few million bucks.

Not to mention if he had just stayed in Orlando for a bit less money they'd perhaps be the best team in the league....
This is going to be Hedo's big payday for the rest of his life. I don't think trying to get the biggest contract he can is idiotic. Sure Portland is likely a better team next year, and so is Orlando. But he'd be paid less by both of those teams.
