Most free agents list rank Rasheed Wallace higher than Charlie, but Rasheed isn't 24. Is Charlie worth more than the MLE? I think it would be great to have a guy we can hang on to for a while.

That being said I'm sure he's worth more than the MLE?

I can see him being worth an MLE deal, but I'd be very reluctant to pull the trigger. Rasheed will likely accept a short term contract, Villanueva is going to want a year year deal. So he's a much bigger risk, with more upside though as he is still a young player.

He is worth more than the MLE in my opinion. He stepped up alot last year and really played very good basketball. Sure, he was inconsistent at times but he would be a better pick up than retaining Davis.

I love Davis and all but for some reason I really think some dumb GM out there (Chris Wallace?) will offer him a contract earning about 6-7 million annually. Davis is not worth it, Villanueva is.

Unfortunately, something tells me Charlie V. will be signing with the Cavs.
Carl: And, technically, he's supposed to be spayed, and uh, he ain't that. I know that first hand. Go ahead, ask me how I know. Go ahead. Ask me. Ask me how I know.

I think it depends on the team.  For a team like Cleveland that needs a mobile 4 who can spread the floor, he could be worth a lot.  In our system, I'm not sure that Villanueva would be that much more valuable than Glen Davis.  Sure, he can spread the floor, but so can KG and Big Baby.  And while he has 4 inches on Davis, he doesn't play like it and couldn't play effectively at the 5.

To me, Wallace is a better fit for us since he also spreads the floor, but also has a post up game and knows how to play championship defense at the 4 and 5 spots.

Well said; versatility is a value.

I've loved Charlie since his days @ UCONN. Then I followed him closely on the Raptors, my hometown team. I was disgusted with how quickly the Raps gave up on Charlie as they dealt him rather early into his rookie contract (year 2 I believe). Anyways, Charlie V is basically an inconsistent Rashard Lewis.

He can nail the 3-pointer, take the ball to the rack, knock down the mid-range J, and is solid at the stripe.

If we could get him coming off the bench I'd be amazed.

Probably more than we are willing to pay.

Being from Wisconsin and having mildly kept track of the Bucks, I don't believe his defense is very good. That alone leads me to believe we can get someone better.

I think we have enough defense. We need someone to score when 2 of our big 3 are on the bench.

based on production, charlie v looks like the best bargain out there...especially when you compare him with other guys like mason, who cant even shoot the 3 as a SF

if charlie can play the big 3 position, then he would be a great replacement for what posey brought...if baby leaves, he then becomes even more valuable to us

has he had any attitude issues?
