Mikki Moore wants to play on it because it means he's under contract for the Celtics after this season. Look at that guy, mediocrely bleeding green.

Mikki Moore is a very good third string Big. He can score and he's a legitemate 7 footer. His situation last year was over his head.

The thing about Mikki Moore that makes many people not like him is that as a 7 footer, he is pretty ineffective against stonger low post players. If matched up against the more mobile PF and perimeter oriented bigs, he is a much better asset.

Not starting quality, but certainly 2-3 string material. I certainly have no problem giving him a shot to earn a seat at the end of the bench as a 3rd string big next season.

He was completely outmatched against Rashard Lewis..I think with a full season and camp under his belt he'd be better, and the situation he walked into is by no means traditional...but PJ Brown is a VERY good second string PF, and he walked into a very similar situation...Mikki Moore might be a good twelfth man, but it doesn't diminish that we really need a VERY good 7footer

Absolutely true, The 7 footer we need is of a higher skill set than Mikki Moore (or P.J. Brown) and a guy who could play effectively in the low post at both ends of the floor would be my wish.

I would also venture to say that PJ would have been abused by Rashard Lewis just as badly. That was just a bad matchup for us and no one on our roster matched up well with him.

Scalabrine was probably our best bet off the bench and he was still in over his head.

The Lukes are interesting cases.  Both very productive in college, but considered too slow and unathletic.  I think Doc would cry if Danny gave him Harangody as yet another 6'8" center/pf.  The other Luke is tall enough, however, to perhaps merit a peek.

I'd have no problem in picking Harangody with the #58. I think he'll be a limited and bellow average player who will work extremely hard to be as good as he can be, and will be able to help a team on those long February road trips when nobody else really feels like playing hard. He will shut down, say, Amare Stoudemire one of those nights simply by outworking him. He will be good for the coaches in practices.

If Ainge is planning on letting Powe walk and trading Scal at some point during the season and wants another reserve big for an extremely cheap price, it wouldn't hurt to give a look to Harangody.

I really don't know Nevill well; that's the only reason he made my roster, to allow me to watch him.

I like the Harangody you describe, but is that what we really need?  We have had our share of fairly successful, undersized "bigs" in Gomes, then Powe and BBD.  And hopefully we'll still have their services.

I think Danny needs to try to back up the forward spots with length and quickness.  Someone who could stay with Rashard Lewis would not just defend Lewis, he'd create matchup headaches for just about everyone else.  And someone big and quick could wear down our opponents to help out our starting forwards.

what accounts for the other 11 years of his mediocre career?

I wish we would could send TA to the summer league for a couple reasons.   One to work on his ball handling even if it means forcing him to play PG while he is there ( We would never use him as a PG during the season but it's not the point) and 2 to showcase him in a potential trade.   I know it won't happen but I would like to see this.

I am pretty sure this is closed to the public, but it will be televised online.

I remember reading that it would be July 6-10, but maybe that was another year?

Of course he isn't what we really need, that's why I included him in a Summer League roster with 10 more guys. As I've said, he'd be a decent 5th/6th big to have. Read the 2nd paragraph of the post you quoted.
