I'm all for 7 foot projects that can learn under KG while he's still here.   It didn't work out with Patrick O'Bryant, but I still like that Danny tried it.  If we could get a young lotto player with serious potential to add to this team, I'd jump at it.

And I can't see Jersey trading Yi for our garbage.  I'd be ecstatic if we got Yi.

Well according to the real GM artical the Nets want to move him because he can't or doesn't pick up the defense, rebound or pass. He mostly looks for his on shot.
I don't think so.

Why does that matter? Yi and POB were lotto players because someone made mistakes (although Yi is, in terms of current quality and potential, in another world when compared to POB).

My problem with Yi is that he doesn't seem to have a lot of potential; he is what he is - someone who I don't see as significantly better than a guy like Josh Davis, for example.

probably because he has issues with the language and shooting is probably the most natural for him (and thus his comfort zone).

Or he's a talented but selfish offense player, which was always the knock on him from his stints on china's national team.

Yao got visibly irate at him in the Olympics when he spent 3 trips in a row spotted up like eddie house around the three point line instead of setting picks.

I'd get him. He is like a torkulu in the making. Can really shoot, pass, has great basketball sense

NJ wants to dump some salary but get more experienced. For yi and a throw in it will take tony allen and eddie house. With walker and giddens dying to play i'd do such a trade in a heartbeat
