Thier's nothing "playoff tough" about waiting till a man turns around and slapping him in the back of the head because you don't have the cojones to do it to his face. that's not "hard playof play" thats being a punk, and i have zero sympathy for him.

That gets your teeth knocked out on the playgrounds, and rafer wouldn't have done it with out the ref's around. That moves only purpose was to start a fight. Thus, he was gone. nothign playoff intense about it or rafer.

The lakers fouls were playoff fouls, so i can see where your comign from, but again, the NBA suspends for those now.

rafers was a small female dog's foul, and proved he has no testicles.

Traveling all day yesterday, but wanted to pop in and say:

- I was wrong; didn't think they'd suspend Alston

- I'm happy to be wrong; this is a big asset for us tonight, doubly so if Lee is inactive or ineffective.

Why didn't you think he would be suspended? He clearly broke the no hit to the head rule.

Parish was fined and suspended for punching Laimbeer in the playoffs in 87. Is this a different incident? My recollection was Parish going after Laimbeer during a free throw...

its odd that people don't think he should have been suspended.  It wasn't in the act of play, I could see if it was a hard foul that was debatable but that slap was "Let's fight".  80% of players would have started a brawl right there.  Eddie decided to drain more threes.  That's why we love Eddie.

This is how myths are created. You clearly have no idea about the issue you've chosen to lecture masses:

Quote
On the day the Boston Celtics should have been celebrating a most miraculous victory, they encountered another obstacle in trying to defend their NBA title. Center Robert Parish was fined $7,500 and suspended from Game 6 for hitting Detroit's Bill Laimbeer in the face Tuesday night in Game 5.

Then, that wasn't playoff basketball. It wasn't regular season basketball either. Or pre-season basketball. It simply wasn't basketball at all. Basketball is a different sport:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basketball

It's a guy throwing a elbow at another guy and the later answering with a couple of punches. That's not bad by itself. I'm a fan of boxing. However, I spend money and time to watch basketball - and I expect to see basketball, not fighting. NBA athletes are really good playing basketball, but lousy fighters. When I want see fights, I very much prefer to see professional boxers performing it. So, not only it wasn't basketball, it was a waste of time; except maybe for some juvenile souls.
