Im trying to figure out what kind of cell I would like to get. Im getting one sometimes this reason. Im pretty good with technology, and i like the idea out touch phones, but I don't know which ones are good, and which ones are way to hard to use.

Just give me a quick list of phones to either definitly consider, but most importantly definitly stay away from.

I know touch phones are mainly based on owner feel and preference, but any input would be appreciated greatly. (helpful posts will be rewarded with TPs)

Also ill be happy to answer any questions you have about what im looking for. But basically im looking to see if there are any phones out there that you guys really like or really dislike.

Go to a verizon store. Use your intuition, and pick one that you like that doesn't cost too much.

stay away from the blackberry storm.

its a POS

freezes way too much, the accelerometer sucks, the lock is horrible (so it is constantly doing things in the pocket), drops way too many calls, etc...

stay away.

I have the Voyager and I like it alot.  It's very easy to use.  You can customize the touch settings to fit your fingers which makes it even better.  I also like the fact that there is a keyboard when you flip it open, which makes texting easier.

What would I be looking at in terms of price for the phone itself.

Hmmm...My parents paid for mine hahaha. However, I think it was around $150 if my memory serves me right.

Try to get one that has a tip calculator. ;D

My last three phones have been basic Motorolas.  My whole family is currently using MotoKrzrs.

It is small, simple and easy to use.  The battery life is excellent.  I usually  get more bars than other people in the same places.  The voice quality is much better than the phones I talk to.  The phone is also tough, and takes a beating.  The one the Fat Kid carriers looks like it has been run over, but it works fine. The Fat Kid's Mom uses one for business, and she gets service and voice quality everywhere she goes.  We rarely drop a call.

If you just need basic make/receive calls and a bit of texting, you can't go wrong.  If you want bells and whistles, look for something else.

The alias is the one Ive got and I really like it.  It flips both ways, so if your a big texter it has a full keyboard.  thats the main reason i got it.  I hate texting with the normal keypad, it took me forever, but as soon as i got this one, that changed.  I was one of those kids who didnt understand why you couldnt just call someone instead.  I would get a text and phone so i could say my answer in person since i hated it.  No more, i have been converted.

i had that phone and initially liked it.  in terms of function, its a nice little phone.  HOWEVER, i went thru 2 of them (and i keep them in great shape and dont mishandle them) and think they might be cheap or poorly crafted phones. the first had a faulty screen and i was given a replacement.  the replacement (also a brand new phone) had faulty ports.

i upgraded to the lg dare and very happy with it

I'll tell you what phone not to get.

I have the newer envy, and although I like the phone itself, there are way too many problems with it. Idk what it is, but if shuts off randomly every once in a while. Also, the front keypad doesn't work for me sometimes. I'm not the only one with this problem either. I've only had the phone since October 2008
