I feel like an idiot. I stay up (as so many of us did)late last night expecting a win. I was excited about the game, excited about MM's new addition and how he would look. I didn't expect much for his first night and he played resonably well so I wasn't disappointed.

Because I did expect a win, however, I was dissappointed. As my old physics professor said countless numbers of times, "Everything's relative". Two years ago when PP was alone, this game going down like it did would have been exciting, albeit a bit frustrating. In the wee hours of this a.m., it bothered me like no other loss this year. To mail it in and lose to a "team?" like the clippers (remember their two 140+ surrenderings to Phoenix last week and our dismantling of that same Suns team shortly thereafter)while we are in the middle of a fight for our lives for Home Court Advantage is completely and utterly inexcusable.

Over the past two years, the Cs have embraced KGs absences with gusto and have been rewarded for rising to the challenge and wanting to prove to all that they can win without KG. Last night, they were so full of themselves that they (esp the Captain and RR) got lazy and got bit in the ass for it. They are getting paid too much $$$$$$$$$$$ to "take nights off". Excuses like "end of a long road trip", "KG and Scals and TA out" and "trap game" are all that:just excuses. This was a bad missed opportunity for an easy "W".

Ironically, I guess I'm glad we are all (I should say most, since more than one poster has seemingly embraced this loss as understandable and acceptable and instruct the rest of us who are angered and disappointed to "deal with it")angered and disappointed because 17 last year and the potential for 18 this year has raised our levels of expectation to much more than we had from the early 90s to '06-'07.

I'm just stating the obvious I guess:the greater our expectations, the greater the disappointment and anger when they are not realized, especially when done so frustratingly as last night. Given that, I guess I have to say I'm happy I'm disappointed and angry. In '06-'07 I wouldn't have been.

Yeh, I'm glad I took the responsible route last night and went to bed at half time.  There's nothing worse than staying up for a game like last night's.  OK, there are a few worse things, but...

It's easy to say these guys should not take a night off because of all the money they make, but it's not like they physically didn't show up and slept in at their hotel or something.  Money can't change the fact that at the root of this it;s still just a job.  And it's tough to get up for your job every day.

It's still disappointing, because as bad as they played they still could have and should have won.
Yup

We now know where at least one of our guys' mind was.  Gabe was already out with his friends mentally and that sadly could have been the case with others.  Focus must happen now before home court is gone.  Keep hope alive...oh, and cut Gabe.

no need to cut him for kicks and giggles, but certainly the person who benifits the most from this is JR.

I think the old "omg we need a spot, cut someone!" order went

1. JR
2.Gabe

now it goes

1.Gabe
2.JR
“I will hurt you for this. A day will come when you think you’re safe and happy and your joy will turn to ashes in your mouth. And you will know the debt is paid.” – Tyrion

"Anger"?

That's a personal problem. Can't blame the Celtics for anyone's anger.

Anger is an emotion, not a problem in and of itself unless you let it control you...in addition if you've ever played sports or done anything competitive, anger can be a beneficial emotion if handled correctly and used as motivation to improve....ever play golf?

Even if I accepted this rationalization, what possible benefit would come from being angry when your favorite team loses?

The common reaction for many angry people -- come one here and rant about players that are horrible and need to go (until they change their view after a winning streak). The rage crowd is very prone to overreacting.

As far as competition goes, I am very intense when I play basketball. But when I am reflecting on things later (like we do on this board) the anger isn't still with up.
