Cross another one off your list: Darrell Armstrong will be joining the coaching staff of the Mavs.

Great ball-hawking defender, and a real warrior.

I already thought he was playing in the senior's game.

He's younger than Reggie Miller.

Anyone remember him in fantasy basketball during the 99-00 season?

He started off the season crazy hot. Averaged 20/4/7.5 and 2 steals a game during November. For a few weeks, he was the #1 (fantasy) PG in the game according to Yahoo Sports. Then reality caught up with him and his stock plummeted.

Looking back on that Magic team, I am amazed that they played .500 ball with that roster (and coached by Doc Rivers). Their top players were:

Armstrong
Ron Mercer
Chris Gatling
John Amaechi
Ben Wallace (pre-Detroit form, but not horrible)
Chucky Atkins

Yikes! The NBA must have really sucked back then if this team finished only 1 game out of the 8th seed in the East. For me, this season was definitely one of the worst on record.

  • Yup
He was the kind of guy I was begging for the C's to get last year.  A solid pro, and a pesky player.
Yup
