I like Donny and I don't like Donny... When the Celtics are playing good ball I like having Donny there to make fun of him for name dropping players on opposing teams and telling bad stories, he really is terrible at color commentary, but I don't mind him.

He is a horrible color man. Never knows when to shutup and makes too many commens about himself and how great he is. Makes it difficult to watch the broadcast.

Donny just said he was a "great free throw shooter" for "my entire career"

Donny's career FT%  77-113  .681

;D

Well, that sample is very small, maybe too small to be valuable and he was a pretty solid FT shooter in college (aprox. 80%) , so perhaps his pride is indeed justified.

I really don't mind his self-aggrandizing anecdotes, although sometimes they just come out as odd. The problem is that he doesn't add a lot of insight, he doesn't seem to know some stuff and, essentially, he's very boring, he has no notion of the rhythm needed I think, of when is time to talk and at which tone and when is time to remain silent. I prefer to listen to the guys of the Port. or Spanish broadcasts over listening to him and that's extremely uncommon.

Bad commentators have a large negative effect on my enjoyment of watching games. I hope they fire Donny.

or just keep him in studio, he does alright when he gets to set out his thoughts in advance.

I think alot of the "oh i played with player x, blah blah" comes from him needing something to fill time in his mind.

Hey can anyone help me out.. I was wondering where Donnie went to school  ;)
"Let me call him," Floyd said.

The man shook his head. "O.J. doesn't give out his cell," he said. "He'll call you."
