^^^ I think Scalabrine is pretty bad. Prior to that hot streak he was really stinking up the joint. It's three or nothing with Scalabrine - and he is quite a bit overweight as well. I think his body fat percentage is up there with BBD. He is also shocking clutzy for an NBA player. Guys make turnovers but Scalabrine he is like that Dwight guy in the office - he fumbles the ball in ways that you haven't seen since junior high..

well, if BBD lost a bunch of weight, he would really be under-sized for a 4/5.  At least all that girth allows him to push bigger guys off their spots, and box out more effectively.

Anyone remember how frustrated Tim Duncan was with his physical play?  25 lbs lighter and TD goes anywhere he wants in the paint against him.

TP there. I think what makes BBD as a player is his weight.  If he was 25 pounds lighter he wouldn't be able to play the post.  He may be listed at 6'9 or w/e but he is at least 2 inches shorter than that, most likely 3.  To be honest, while I think he's a good energy guy, that's about all he'll ever be.  He's going to be a Robert Traylor of the league that will be the 3rd string big man that when you face the Duncan's and Howard's of the league is 6 extra fouls and a wide body to put on them.  I like BBD, but he isn't going to be that great a player in the league and isn't going to get much better.

No doubt that's he worked on his weight he was fat in college now he just has a wide lower region.  And those that stated he would have a tougher time on the block without his girth are correct.  I do agree though that with a bit more sculpting he can be more than some guy who can lean on bigger players.  I know it's cliche but, he has a pretty good BBIQ and with his skills that are apparent in glimpses he can be much better player.  But there is a concept called 'body structure' and he can get a bit smaller but, if you don't think he's worked on it your not being very fair IMO.
