If Mike Bibby thought we let him hear it after talking about us, wait til Josh Howard comes to town.  Disrespecting the National Anthem like that=disrespecting everyone that died sticking up for the flag and what it stands for.  I hope he blows his knees out and can never play basketball ever again, and then is audited by the IRS and loses every penny he has.  What a jerk.

whoa..... you need to chill

Why??  My father was in the military for 25 years.  My best friend is an AF pilot.  Two more close friends are in the Army and Navy.  I have no reason to show respect to someone who doesn't respect the country's colors and what they stand for.
I'm a patriot as much as the next man and have a deep abiding love for my country. I also have lost a family member in Iraq, have a brother-in-law in the USAF and have more than 6 family members who work in the public sector as police or fire personnel. I don't like what Howard seemed to be joking around with and agree with it less.

But this being America I will defend his right to say it all day long. It's one thing to criticize him or his possible position. Wishing harm on the man for having his opinion is just the thing your father, best friend, and two other close friends fight against. They do what they do just so that people like Howard are allowed to say the things they say and have the right to feel that way if they want.

I don't know your dad or friends but would they really want you doing what they are fighting against, namely, wishing harm on an American for having an opinion or saying something?

While I understand his right to free speech, I can also say that my father and friends have no problem with the way I think having discussed this with them already.  Like you said, this is me voicing my opinion based on MY right to free speech.

Having an opinion is one thing, wishing harm on a person is something different and is not an opinion.

:o :o :o Wow, never thought I'd see the day. Even Stephen A. Smith won't defend Howard and is calling him an "idiot."

EDIT: Oops guess I'm a sort of an idiot too. Forgot the link. Here it is: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/story?columnist=smith_stephen&page=jhoward-080918&lpos=spotlight&lid=tab2pos1

So for the record, you've NEVER wished harm on another human being ever??  I bet you have and for much less.  And yes, despite the intent behind it wishing him harm IS me voicing my opinion.  But to ensure this doesn't go overboard I'm not going to comment on the issue further.
