Somehow I just knew Pedroia would be the one to break it up.  Lackey looked like he was going to throw up by the time Pedroia came to the plate.

...and now Youk hits a two run homer.  Thats more like it

Thank goodness.

I did not want an opposing no-hitter in Fenway.  I don't care about the historical significance. 

That next pitch to Youk was an absolute meatball.

God it is absolutely agonizing to be on the opposite side of the *near* no-hitter.

The worst one of those was several years back against the Yankees.  Mike Mussina had a no hitter (it may have been a perfect game), and got us to (I think) two outs in the ninth, before Jurassic Carl came through with a hit.  Being no hit against the Yanks would have been the ultimate indignity.

Everett's base hit to RF (i think). What a great moment, almost as good as when he headbutted the umpire, or when Izzy Alcantara kicked the opposing catcher before charging the mound while in Pawtucket. Great moments.
