I haven't read through every thread about last night's game, but I suspect many people are questioning why Powe didn't play much after a stellar game 2. If I remember correctly, he didn't play at all until mid-way through the 3rd quarter last night.

Anyhow, how's this for a theory:

I'm wondering if Doc kept Powe out of the game in the first half on purpose. After Powe dominated in game 2, the Lakers surely spent a bunch of time gameplanning for him for game 3. If Powe would have played early, the Lakers would have attempted to use their gameplan to neutralize him. But by keeping him out until the third, it seemed like LA was so caught up in the dynamics of the game that any gameplans they had for Powe were forgotten. As soon as Powe came in, it seems like he went right back to work where he left off.

Is it possible that this was an intentional strategy by Doc to go stealth with Powe? You can argue about whether it was a good strategy - ultimately, the C's lost so you could argue it was a bad strategy. But again, my question is was this an intentional strategy at all?

Actually, Powe played 3 minutes in the first half (ETA: right at the beginning of the second quarter).  Doc gave him the quick hook then, and again in the second half (right when he had just started to get going, sigh).
