we go up 2 nothing at but easily the lakers with the help of the nba and its officiating can be up 3-2 and i don't want to even think about that .

I feel detroits home crowed was not loud enough compared to atlantas and clevelands(sort of pathetic atmosphere if you ask me). With those hollywood stars all coming out of course kobe has to play great now it will be a very tough task to beat the lakers on the road.

Like i said before , forget about all the defense you can play, all the right passes we will need either kg, ray allen or pierce to have a ridiculous 35 plus point night during one of all of these road games coming up

Kobe will get 30+ i'm sure but if one of the big three can explode to 35 + night we could negate what kobe will do for lakers and hope our defense strifles the other laker members while our vets get some shots in for us.

Still traumatized in how we lost to atlanta(after it seemed like we were going to sweep them) three games in their turf where anything can happen in game 7. Anyone feeling my concern?

Remember the Detroit series? The Celtics can and have won on the road.

I do BUT the lakers crowed falls into another category when it comes to home court advantage. It is just as crazy as the celtics crowed. Alot to do with why we won yesterday was cuz of our crowed energy infusing into our players.

Let's win Sunday before worrying about winning one in LA.

I actually disagree.  They are much less raucous.  All the hollywood types aren't going to be as passionate as the Celtic base.  Not an easy place to play, but I don't think LA (even with them being rivals) is a more difficult place to play than say... Auburn Hills.

The Staples Center will be nothing like the home court advantage at the Garden.  They're too busy checking their blackberries and figuring out what they're going after the game to get into the basketball action.

I think Game 2 is huge for the Celts.  They can put a stranglehold on this series going out west.  I can't imagine the Lakers beating us three straight times in that building.  If we win Game 2 and manage to get one out there, we have two shots to win the NBA Championship in Boston.  I like those odds a lot.
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."

We need to win a game in Los Angeles. If we win Sunday, beat them there once and I'll be happy. If we lose Sunday, we need to beat them twice.

Atlanta's ancient history. After we won twice in Detroit and beat the Lakers, we could play 10 games in Atlanta right now and win 9 of them, most of them by double digits.

naw i don't think so my friend. Atlanta did something that even cleveland and detroit didn't do as much at home, and that was to drive at will. I don't know if it was the players or coaches idea but at atlantas turf it worked great. Josh Smith, Joe Johnson and some other players in their benches reckleslly drove to the basket and got foul calls. Lakers have to do this also, but it is a little sigh of relief that the only guy who has balls to do that consistantly is kobe.

Even still it is possible kobe could do it all night long and then start messing with the defense by driving and passing for open threes.

So basically kobe will drive, get the crowed going nutz, we drive and prob get half the calls . We need an insane game by kg, pierce or allen for one those games(like what lebron did to us in game 7 with 47)

The Palace >>> Staples Center as far as the crowd goes.  Hell, a lot of those fans don't even show up until midway through the first half.

I'm not sure about how much better the Lakers play at home compared to the road though so I guess potentially they could have a great home court advantage . . . if that makes any sense.

I'm definitely concerned about Sunday ... and every game, and I hope the Celtics are as well. I think people are a little too pumped and optimistic about our win last night, and I get this feeling that many here feel the championship's as good as won. Unfortunately, we didn't play that well last night, or win by what I would call a convincing advantage. There's a long way to go in this thing, and Thursday night's game was far too close, and much too much of a struggle, considering how poorly the Lakers played.

Don't expect them to struggle like that in every game, or Kobe to not have a huge scoring impact ... there's a good chance it will happen, and more than once. The best thing about that, is that we played far from our best game as well, and I think we'll be more consistent and play tougher defense now that the early "jitters" are gone and the kinks worked out. Sunday would be the game I'd really want if I were the Lakers, and the Celtics have got to play their best. Kobe loves to "bounce back" in a big way, and the Boyz have got to prevent LA from stealing one.

Cart-Horse

I am concerned about Sunday, and right now I really only care about Sunday.  Lakers will come out strong to try to tilt the series back in their favor.
Celtics fan for life.

winning game 1 was big, but winning game 2 would be monumental. I think that since the NBA went to 2-3-2 that only twice has any home team swept those 3 middle games, Detroit and Miami. I might be wrong, but the % is that the C's will take at least one game in LA... I go back and forth on 2-3-2 vs. 2-2-1-1-1 because having game 5 at home is such a huge deal. That said, having the final 2 games at home is pretty sweet too. What the 2-3-2 does is make the first 2 game crucial for the favorite. Sunday will be huge...
Now, on to 18...
