Am I reading this right? Big Baby got zero fouls called on him? When was the last time that happened? He played some good six minutes there.

I think we'll see more him rather than Powe from now on, though I think Doc liked that PJ/Perk combo.

Yeah ... good points (TP) ... I'm getting so I like the Perk/PJ tandem as well, and PJ seems to thrive in it, too. I also like how Sammy was used sparingly, but contributed some positive stuff also, (and Pierce was all over him for missing his assignment).

Gotta love when they play like this, (at least in the first three quarters) ... it's truly a working example of how basketball should be played ... really sweet win.

Have to say though, not to throw water on the fire, but we should have won this game by 30 to 40 points, as they really failed to put the "pedal down" so to speak. Maybe next game we'll truly blow them out, and win number four in Boston!

Funny, though ... we actually had almost the same numbers offensively as we did the other night ... shows you what defense can do when it's played with intensity and intelligence.

Another good thing I liked about last night was when Doc got in Ray's face in the third when he was lazy, for whatever reason. Everyone came out without energy, but Ray was the main one and Doc got on him. I thought Ray played in control through the rest. Even in the 4th, I think he's the only one that kept doing what needed to be done.

And I didn't see Pierce so much as getting in Cassell's face, rather than starting a conversation among them because there was some sort of miscommunication since Cassell was also pointing something out. Don't remember the exact play though. Whichever the case, there was good communication out there... loved the "look" Garnett gave Ray signaling him to cut to the basket. That was awesome, especially in the replay by ABC.

Anyways, loved the Perk/PJ combo... liking Rondo this round more than the previous ones. He's having a much better positive impact regardless if he's having a good shooting night or not, it shows up in the ball movement. Still a bit inconsistent, but overall making a much better job and better decision making.

And as I've said many times before, I could careless about players being cold or not, as long as they keep doing what they need to do within the offense. Things always work out regardless if players are making are missing shots because facts is that sooner or later we'll make then if we remain doing the task appropiately.

Yeah ... really didn't mean to infer anything negative between Truth and Sam, but more the great communication aspect, and Paul taking his role as Captain on more than one level. And though Rage was up-and-down tonight, the overall contribution was positive ... gotta love that little "runner" he's developed ... that's a sweet shot! I see some people viewed Ray as "bricking it" again, but while he did miss some shots, I didn't feel like he was still stuck in that rut, but rather contributed in every aspect, and hit some smooth shots as well. Great win!

No minutes for Leon Powe tonight, no problem, apparently.  I have been a big advocate of more minutes for Leon Powe, but while the Celtics remain like the old Red Sox teams (always waiting for them to blow it -- no lead is safe), they were pretty darn good last night without him.

Unless there is foul trouble, I think we should see less and less of the 4th big man.

Davis stepped up well last night.  That all you can ask for.

The emergence of PJ has been great, I don't have the + / - numbers, but my gut says that Wallace is scoring at will on PJ, while Perkins is holding his own.  Perkins staying out of foul trouble has been a big plus.
I love my kids, call me a sap - it's true.

Absolutely -- Davis was really solid.  Powe was unnecessary. . . . . . and it is tough for me to admit that.

Unless there is foul trouble, I think we should see less and less of the 4th big man.

In regards to the 4th big man I think Doc just needs to take it from game to game.  It's pretty much been shown that it's not guaranteed you'll get consisent good minutes from either Powe or Davis (same with Cassell) so I think the best he can do is go with his gut for the game and if someone isn't playing well put the other guy in.

3 FG's on Perk, 3 on PJ.  I really got no issues with Wallace... he's be so sporadic against us that it's hard to tell what the reason why he goes off when he does and why he fails when he does. If he was consitantly aggressive, I could give you a better answer than this. With that said, certainly Perk is doing a better job on him regardless, but I also have to take into consideration that Wallace has been notorious for disappearing at times during games throughout his career.

I expect Big Baby to be playing over Powe for the rest of the series (although Doc might use Powe in certain situations, or if Baby is ineffective), but that could change quickly if they make it to the finals.  Baby is a better option against the Pistons, because he is better with the rotations, and the Pistons kill you if you don't rotate quickly, but if they were to play a team like LA, Powe might be a better fit.

Given the age of the Celtics and the AARP lineups that they sometimes play (all players over 30), I very much hope all of the bench players can get some minutes to keep the Celtics core players as fresh as possible.
