I don't care about Paul George.
If he can give us quality role player production, I am good. If he only gives us half season, that is fine. I mean what more can we expect given his injury record of the past 7 seasons.
What does it matter anyway? He gets hurt then the young wings step up and replace his minutes. Is that a downgrade? Is that big of a downgrade? It is significant but it is not huge.
How much difference does Paul George even make to a team these days? Is a guy who improves a team by 10 wins? Nah. Not healthy enough. Even if he was healthy for a whole season, is he a 10 win a season impact player? Probably not. When is the last time he has added 10 wins to a team? It has been years. Probably closer to 7-8 wins at 36yo.
Let's say 8. So we get half a season. 4 wins. Lose out on the other 4 wins because he is injured for the other half but the young wings come in and replace him. They can't give us those 4 wins but they can probably give us 2 wins. So we get 6 wins instead of 8. Again, who cares. It is 2 wins. It doesn't matter greatly if we only get half a season out of him vs a healthy season.
PG13 is not important to the success or non-success of this team. He is a useful addition but he is not driving any major impact here. He plays, fine. He doesn't play, fine.
He is our 5th most important player. Tatum, D White, Pritchard are all core players. PG13 is just a rental. A mercenary. Heck, I'd say Queta is more important than PG13. Hence, 5th in the list. M Robinson might even challenge him for 5th.
PG13 is not important. He is just a role player.
The only thing about PG13 that matters is that he is the "new Theo Ratliff".
