3) I worry about the Giannis/Tatum fit. Now on paper it seems terrific, but we thought that about Giannis/Lillard and that blew up in the bucks faces. I do worry both Giannis/Tatum want to be THE GUY with the ball in their hands, and I'm not sure I believe Tatum would be willing to become more an off-ball guy.

Tatum will be the new Khris Middleton

I think they?re different player styles as well, and Tatum will probably still be the guy with the ball in his hands in clutch moments because Giannis can?t shoot from the perimeter and he?s terrible from the free-throw line. But that doesn?t mean they can?t run actions for Giannis. I think both players are un selfish enough to know that whoever has the best shot takes the shot. Giannis played 120 games with Dame and I don?t think either of them were selfish. And Tatum and Brown both showed that they could be un selfish and put the team first in 2024.

It wasn't the fit, it was this. They both were trading DNP's. We heard about JT's gravity making life easier for other players. Having another dude who can give JT what he gives other players is going to unlock another level I think.

Apparently the Celtics have offered Jaylen, Hugo and multiple first round picks. That is hefty even for Giannis

I was a No on this one because it has more given up.

I still think BS should be using White, Hauser and picks to get a good big man and not deal JB. Hope BS can find something and not split the Js.

Giannis is a helio-centric player. He needs everything to revolve around him. His teams underachieve when things do not revolve around him. He doesn't know how to combine well with teammates or to adapt to the needs of those around him. He only knows how to look after himself.

Jaylen is a better teammate. People can show their skills alongside JB. Giannis impedes his teammates. They have to subvert their games to appease Giannis. They do less with Giannis than they can with others. Part of Giannis' big stats come at the expense of his teammates.

Agreed.  Also, if the Bucks have not accepted that already they are idiots.  (Which leads me to hope/believe that is not an actual offer).

I?m guessing Milwaukee wants a 3 team trade and they could trade brown to Miami for Herro, players & pics. But does Miami want brown?
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

That would be a great trade for Miami.

A number of Heat fans do not want to trade all their assets for Giannis because of his age, next contract, injury issues and inability to put talent around him and Bam.

Jaylen is a better option. A bit younger. Healthier. He is like redoing the Jimmy Butler / Bam tandem. More time to get the rest of the roster in gear to go again in the playoffs.

I mean are they using Miami for Leverage??? I truly can't believe they would rather have Hero than JB! Sounds like leverage! I also read that the Bucks also wants Hugo as well, that sucks because I love HG. Hero is okay, but come on man! Plus Miami doesn't have any great pics to offer?? If they have GA, future pics are not great.

This is the part I can't understand. Brown is the best version of the 3 and d wings that have gotten huge returns over the last few years. The Heat's offer is 2 role players, a 0 defense combo guard, a late lotto pick and 2 future firsts in a watered down nba lottery system.

Why do the Celtics have to match the heats draft assets part of the deal?

Been saying the same for at least a week.  The Celtics should walk at that amount of draft assets/prospect assets.  If the relationship damage is done with JB and you have to move him, I would be shocked if you could not get at least one of the following deals:

Trey Murphy III + matching salary + picks from New Orleans
Okungwu + matching salary + picks from Atlanta
Sharpe + matching salary + picks from Portland

Any of those options will make a better team than last year when you also consider that Tatum will be replacing Brown.

The Celtics do not need to negotiate against themselves.  If they can get Giannis for Jaylen plus a little, that is fine.  Jaylen plus a lot should be a no.
