I would say B+ to A-. I know most people are championship or bust and anything less than a championship is a failure but if you think about it they've been to four ECF (five for Jaylen, one semi and now two Finals. That's a pretty impressive run if you think about it. I would grade that at least a B+ to an A-. But if you're grading on the basis of championships brought to Boston, then obviously it's either an A+ or an F and they haven't brought one yet so it's an F

Another way I would grade is by the enjoyment they brought to me watching the team...which is supposed to be one of the reasons we watch sports or do leisure activities, because they're supposed to be fun. I've enjoyed watching them over the years, watching them grow, make mistakes, mature...so on that basis I would give them an A

Anybody want to change their vote?

It's been an absolutely amazing era of Celtics basketball.  Compared to the average fan, we've been completely spoiled.

  • On To Banner 19!
Right now I'm giving it an A.

Many years of contention, finally a championship and Banner 18. And unless something catastrophic happens these guys are heading towards an easy HOF and having their jerseys retired in Boston.

And if you really want to be critical and say "oh but they should be able to win 5+" or something, look at some of the other superstar and so called "contenders" around the league. Getting over the hump and winning the first title is not easy, ask Boston too. I'm putting it in that perspective as well.

Since Tatum's rookie year, 17-18, the C's have the most playoff wins of any team with 68. Next closest is 52. The C's have the second most regular seaosn wins with 360 trailing only the bucks at 364. C's are one of only three teams to get to NBA finals twice, the other two being Miami who has gone 0-2 and GSW who has gone 2-1. They have not missed the playoffs, and failed to get out of the first round only once.

Its really hard to argue this hasn't been a crazy god run. Ideally would you like one more title just to cement it? Sure, but its still an A+ to me.
