In the post-game press conference yesterday, did anybody else catch how Tatum said his favorite players are Timelord and Bradley Beal?

Obviously JB is better for JT than Beal given Beal being so undersized and a bit of a liability on D, but once Beal’s next big contract is over and he’s in the twilight of his career (latter half of the 2020s), I suspect we’ll be bringing in Beal as 6MOTY. Assuming we do whatever it takes to make JT a “Celtic for Life,” of course…

To add some fun to the thread: Who are your favorite players, both Celtics and non-Celtics?

Mine are JT, Timelord and Smart in that order, but I also love Horford and am growing very fond of the 2022 JB. I’ve been one of Grant’s biggest fans even when it was unpopular to support the guy. If Pritchard continues to play like he has this series, he’s shooting up the charts. And I find White and Theis eminently likable.  This is just a truly likable team when they play the type of game I love (prioritizing relentless D, facilitation on O, and leveraging intangibles on both ends).

Outside of the Celtics, Steph is my number one guy (and I wear his sneakers), followed by Evan Mobley and Doncic.

Right now, Beal wouldn’t break our top 7 rotation.

Right now he’d be in street clothes, so this is true.

6 months ago you were suggesting trades for Tatum and Smart, and using Grant as trade filler. You have an odd way of wanting rid of your favorite players.

Let's not even mention Brown in this.

I'm curious if teams in NBA2k have a "team chemistry" stat. Or like, "experience as a group", or maybe even "trade sickness" or w/e.

You know, things that exist in real life that will make you want to NOT trade someone.

Because it seems as though most casual fans have no clue whatsoever about this.

I usually kept Grant off the trade filler. I only suggested Tatum/Smart being moved in the darkest hour, when I was in complete despair. The guys were not clicking. They’re finally clicking. All is well again.

There is team chemistry and a limit to how many players you can waive in 2k14.

But I feel like we can look no further than the Nets, who have made several blockbuster deals based on a hair trigger and brought in Nash, and now their franchise is in a bit of a mess.

Maybe it's not got a big enough role then :)

Just feel like trade ideas have gotten hella wild - or maybe I'm just getting hella old

It's weird cos in my personal opinion the Nets are a result of players being super empowered and doing things on a whim.

And Greenly's ideas are from a standpoint of being a cutthroat GM who doesn't take to losing kindly, a real Boston mentality. The opposite of player empowerment.

These are opposite ends of the spectrum, yet the net effect would seem to be the same.

Cuz neither of them takes into account player/team development, AT ALL.

They're probably in part the result of 2K thinking and partly because of superteams.

Beal is like Ricky Davis, one dimensional scorer---we don't need him.
Larry Bird was Greater than you think.
