People keep crying for Matisse Thybulle and meanwhile Romeo is basically that player with fewer steals and better offensive potential.

This is a great point. Major TP. Thybulle is a virtual zero on offense. His shooting from 3 makes Romeo Langford look like Larry Bird. And yet just for his defense the Sixers rely on him, while Celtics fans talk longingly about how we need a player like him.

On balance Thybulle has been less injured

Hoping Romy goes on a roll health wise..!

I forgot how he takes a hard charges. The kid has courage.  That carries over guarding Harden, Durant or Lebron, He alters some shots and definitely a force from behind with that wingspan.

He has good base, strong lower body strength gets his chest ion the man,Uses that base boxing out and in a crowd Rebounding a crowd his quick jump with standing vertical and that 7ft wingspan this makes him a very deceptive rebounder both ends of court. He had 9 rebounds last night.
.He led the nation in finishing at the rim in college .He is still figuring out  that length isn't working floating to the rim N His hang time leaves him vulnerable to quick twitch forwards and centers with length.
On that pass cutting in the from Robert Williams, he used his angle,.momentum and length and just laid in no gathering,no bringing the ball down wasn't pretty but it was effective Then there was a layup that he scored through contact actually sought it. He had a good angle and his length was an asset He scored and drew the foul -Rollie Massimino used to call it a bully move There was a two hand dunk.using his standing vertical .A floater and a corner three.
He was plus 18 for the night.

Romeo should train with Drew Hanlon.

Romeo was touted as a triple threat scorer coming out from college.

This scouting report nailed it on Langford developing into a solid rebounder, defender and a spot up shooter. All he needs now is regain his ability to run pnr and pull up jumpers.

Cs fans who wish Langford is actually good are just as lost as Romeo. Stop pretending.

Pretending he’s a good defender? He is. That is not up for debate.

Question is whether his offense develops.

Keep in mind this player is 22 years old.

Guy is knocking down some threes. Keep it up

He’s averaging .7 threes per game on 35% shooting. He has 11 steals (total) on the season. He averages less than 5 points per game while he drifts around. His PER is below 9.

He has virtually no impact on the game. If we had a real bench, he wouldn’t play.

By comparison, Max Strus — who we had in as a rookie at the same time — is a legit NBA bench player. But because we had so many (bad) rookie contracts, he cut him lose so we could keep the likes of Langford and Edwards. It’s infuriating.

You got your facts wrong. We cut Max to keep Javonte Green on the roster. Most supported that  move at the time.

Of course Langford wasn’t in danger of missing the team — he was a lottery pick in his rookie year. The point is they were both rookies the same year in the Cs training camp: one dude is now good (undrafted FA) and the other is basically a waste of space / minutes.

And frankly, I’d rather have Green in Langford’s minutes at this point. At least I might get some shred of enjoyment out of watching one of them considering neither player moves the needle on winning or losing in any way, shape or form.

In my opinion, if the Cs are going to play Langford (or Nesmith for that matter) they should tell ‘em if they don’t go hard to the basket at least 2-3 times a game they’ll be Velcro’d to the bench.

Otherwise, what’s the purpose of taking these “scorers” with high picks in the first place.

Don't really get the minus 32 except he played a lot of minutes ..It wasn't like anybody torched him.Got beaten and his man failed to score and one other time his man got blocked by Williams but got the ball back and scored.
It seems he was stuck in the corner and avoided as Jaylen and Pritchard did their dance
He had zero turnovers zero fouls,3 rebounds,3 assists ,4blocks and three steals. and shot 2-9  22.2 5 from the floor .Not good and a air ball.
I can't remember any body scoring on him on perimeter.
Was he lost yes but with Tatum Brown he is to spread the floor or beat the closeout and get to rim.
i assume he was not to clog up the middle for Pritchard. Most of the action defensively was away from weak side help and putting him in no mans land protecting the perimeter-he didn't get opportunity to double team. And he did have four blocks and 3 steals.

  • Peace it's a board. We all will never agree.
Unless brown or tatum pass to him while he is always open in the corner. He will not grow his shot. If they do pass and he keeps hitting it will open the middle more for them. He has had a few shots early then it seems the team goes 8-10 plays without him involved. He is on my fantasy keeper team so I watch him alot. I think his offense is just about  to break.

Romeo’s offense still seems broken.  He’s close to the bottom of the team in scoring rate, ranking ahead of only Juancho and Bruno.

In other words, if you’re a Celtic whose name ends in “o”, you have serious problems putting the ball in the hoop.
