I get the logic of the OP, in a video-game way.

But in reality, you hope and pray for a player who can do what Tatum can do offensively. He's working to add more playmaking for others to his game and its been shaky so far but as it gets more comfortable, he's going to be the MVP candidate and posts like this will be... fun.

If Tatum asks out, Bridges and Ball is not a bad return.

But yea, agreed, having one potential A+ player is better than one B+ and one B player.
If the starting point is Tatum asking out, then yeah, getting Ball back would be terrific.

But I don't think we're there.

And especially he won't ask out to go to Charlotte I guess... :) we have two years before he may ask and 3 before we could be pushed to do it. Now it is just an anachronism and a way to entertain the bad mood. It is around him and Brown that we have to build.

I'll be honest, LaMelo might be a better player than Tatum lol.
I'd trade Tatum for LaMelo without a 2nd thought.  He's going to be a very special player... with team oriented skills.
Lol

Ball is putting up Better numbers at the same age as Tatum and he pays much much more of a team game.

Nothing controversial about this statement.  Straight facts.
Except for him not putting up better numbers. Tatum also has a much stronger history of being a better player.

These are nothing resembling facts. These are your opinions. Ones which I find quite out of touch
Most allstar caliber 5th year players will have a stronger history than an allstar caliber 2nd year player.  If I remember correctly, weren't you calling Ja Morant the most overrated player in the league last year?  The great ones have to start somewhere.  And Lamelo will be great.
Ja Morant's counting stats are great. He is still a terrible defender, and his team is .500 at the moment.

LaMelo might be great one day. He isn't great now, and has not ever been "great" for any long period. Tatum has been
So what's so funny about trading Tatum for Ball?  Can you see the difference in their court awareness and BBIQ's?  It's night and day.

TP moiso. Tatum is overrated at this point. Ball and Bridges would transform the Celtics overnight. People underestimate the impact of an elite playmaker than can score. And Bridges is 10 times tougher than Tatum.

Jayson I hope your reading this.

Yep, but not in the positive way you’re probably hoping for.

I swear, even if we had Luka, you guys would be chomping at the bit to get rid of him too. Ditto for pre-champion Giannis (“yeah he was MVP but he can’t shoot. Can he really be the best player to a championship team or is he just a regular season star?”)
