I go back and forth wondering if the Jays will both be built around here. I do think Jaylen is good enough as a #2 . I do think his defense needs to be more of a factor . I’m more wondering whether Tatum has the mindset to be a #1. Right now I’d say no. Too concerned with stats and moves to show up opponent. But I think this should have and could have been coached out of him 2 years ago . Dude is still awesome and will get there. I dint have much doubt on that. Just hoping it can happen really soon.
You've just described almost, to not say all, #1's.
How many legit #1s are just 23 years old? Luka is only 22 and certainly the same could be said of him. Zion Williamson is 21 but not sure he is he #1 (Ingram maybe still the #1). Ingram is only 23 also but 24 in Sept. Trae Young is 22. Devin Booker is 24 (25 in Oct). I guess there are a lot of good young players.
I am happy with Tatum. He is as mature, both his game and as a person, as any of these other really young players. I have zero concern about Tatum's mindset or make up to be a team #1.
Anyway, this has nothing to do with Dame Lillard I guess unless you position is that we need to go all in for Lillard because Tatum will never be good enough. I think Tatum will be better than Lillard soon, if not already.
