Kemba, Grant Williams, Edwards, 2021 16th pick

For

Ibaka, Beverly and Rondo


I think this type of trade makes sense for both teams. Celtics then have solid veterans, Thompson, Smart, Rondo, Beverly, Ibaka all playing on a contract year.

If we are taking another team's scraps, I am not in favor of giving up any 1sts...or even Grant Williams. I am not saying it doesn't benefit us by getting out of Kemba's money a year early, but teams like the Clippers and Bulls have every reason in the world to upgrade their PG position. Personally, I like Kemba and have no issue letting him get extended rest this summer and letting him play 3rd fiddle next season. At least you don't have us taking on Marcus Morris' $49M over the next 3 years and are giving us legitimate expiring back up players. Thank you for that.
