Would Danny announce what kind of player he would like to get back in a trade?

I saw that Danny wanted a big that can shoot and play defense in a trade. I haven't seen Danny lose many trades.  So wouldn't that message drive up the price of that type of player when dealing with the Celtics?  I'm no economics major but I am thinking that Danny will go in a different direction.  My guess is Bradley Beal.

I think every GM knows we want a stretch 4.  We pursued Bertrans last deadline, then Milsap in free agency.  We possibly inquired on John Collins, and drafted Grant Williams to play that role (fairly poorly).

So, I think he was just stating the obvious.

I know you're anti-Keith, but he actually just wrote an interesting article about the Celtics' negotiation tactics over the years.

Long story short: They're straight to the point and know exactly what they want and what they're willing to give up. So I think that lines up with what you just wrote. There's no harm in letting teams know what you're looking for.

Yeah, it's not a bad tactic. Rather than calling each individual team about specific players - losing leverage in the process, he can let GMs come to him asking if he might be interested in a player that may be on the block. He can gain negotiating power this way, meaning possibly fewer assets going out.

I think there are any number of players Danny would trade for, but I have no doubt he will go for the best value.
