Did Tatum lie on draft night? lol.  When he stated that he wanted to come play for the Celtics etc etc

Watching this recent interview on JJ Reddick podcast, it goes to show you he was actually hoping that the Suns were going to draft him

This way he can have more "freedom" to average 20 ppg etc.  Can't blame him, for thinking this way.  He does have an alpha mentality

End of the day, glad it all worked out.

Channeling Dr House everybody lies.

Nobody would have said 'I d much rather play for XXXXXX'

Even if he wanted to go to Phoenix I m 100% today he realises that Boston was a great destination for his carrier probably better than Phoenix

Yeah

I mean he probably appreciates his situation more now than pre draft or even last season disaster experience

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Not a surprise. I am sure many highly rated rookies worry about putting up good enough stats so they can get a huge contract when their rookie deals run out. Luckily for Tatum, he obviously has put up monster stats (and will easily be getting a max), but he is also on a really good team and a part of a stable organization. It really couldn't have gone better for him.
