With Hayward down, Is this Kembas time to shine?

That stepback 3 Dagger (near end of game 3) made me realize how Kemba  never Had an opportunity to shine in the playoffs his entire career. Kemba Walker has won three playoff games in the last five days with the Celtics. He won three playoff games in eight years with Charlotte

Now with Hayward down, is this the time where the rubber hits the road for Kemba to make a statement that he’s a legit star? If we can have a “big 3” with kemba at least momentarily until Hayward gets back, that would be great. I feel like he gets disrespected whenever people discuss the best point guards in the game


That dagger likely propelled us to the 2nd round so he did his job well this game

I dunno. I think the league already recognizes he is a legit star (4 successive all-star nods), but he has his limitations defensively. There is a difference between being Dame (having no help and putting up massive games only to lose), and Kemba (having an elite defensive machine around him which allows him to stay on the court for offense). Kemba is just what this team needs though - thoughtful offense and elite mid-range shooting.

He is also paid the same as Kawhi. Kawhi has rings on different teams.

I feel like he’s a tier below the great PG’s in the league. Those being Curry, Doncic, Dame & Westbrook. He’s in the Kyrie, Chris Paul, Simmons & Young tier. Definitely not disrespected though, numerous All-Star nods and an All-NBA spot.

He’s a bit less dynamic than the best of the best, but he’s also probably asked to do the least on offence this season. I think a deep playoff run would be great for his perception and just for his enjoyment of playing. Seems like he’s loving it already with having a perfect playoff record here

I have to say though after the brooding, moody kyrie irving. Kemba is a breath of fresh air.
